Don't read if you haven't watched it.

Do you think providence is bad ?
I'm wondering if other people like sinners more than this.
For this providence, I don't like the story.
I was intrigued by villian that seem cool during first half of movie (undead soldier and mysterious vibe).
At the end of the movie, the villain is just meh. That AI is just low budget version of Sybil system.
I was excited and happy to see those s1 characters and expected to see some good story.
In my opinion the story is just some kind of thing that was forced to make to connect the whole story to s3.
The whole story of providence is some kind of repeated shit from makishima s01 all over again (from my feeling).

Compared to sinners.
The story is fun to watch, more actions and more intense.
They explore world buidling of Psycho pass which I really like it.

I'm sorry if I offended anyone who like this providence.
But do you like sinners more than this ?
Or anyone can clarify why providence is better or which is good points from it.

This is even my first post of MAL because I feel very dissapointed that I have to make a post.

I thought it was good.I might be biased because I'm always interested to see and learn about the world of Psycho-pass which is why I was invested in the movie. But I do agree about the villan being meh, I didn't like him either. I also felt the threat was not really that big of a threat?(then again that's the problem I have with every new Psycho-pass projects)

I had no complaints. Providence was not exactly about the "Villain" to begin with. Sure they had to paint a villain, but really this was more of bringing in new characters, progressing Akane's character forward and ofc we got the OG members fighting together after a really long time. It set the stage for Season 3 as well.
The story is getting more branched and complex every season (I die keeping track of what's even happening each episode) surrounding mostly around legitimacy and blind spots of Sybil system.
It really comes down to whether you like the premise of the show to begin with, this is how they always played and it makes sense that way to me at least

i think the beginning was intriguing and the ending was good but the whole middle part of the movie was a real drag to me which is what made it suffer in my enjoyment overall

@MickeyMinaj I do agree that it make sense.
Lool like it's my own fault for expecting too much and misunderstand of the premise.

it's alright, but nothing exceptional really. Characters from S2 + kagami kinda carry it.

That's cool. Personally I think S1 can be watched as a standalone anime instead of following up on rest of the movies and OVAs. It has the same potential of being liked by most people if not all

I did love a lot the movie, but it could've been better.
The action felt somewhat slow at moments (i.e Kogami's hand to hand fights).
The end was amazing.
Can't wait for more content!

I have to agree. I was really looking forward to this movie but it was kindof a letdown. I honestly didn't really like the movies anyways. But I did really like the OP and ED songs in the movie. I also liked when they used the OG theme song towards the end. Other than that the plot was confusing and I can't count how many times I paused the movie or got distracted

It's good but it doesn't deserve a sequel.

I think it's bad if you watch it after season 3. Like you watch season 3 and are confused at all these things, that are explored in this movie! If you already watched season 3 you also know how this will play out. That last scene with Akane would have been cooler if I didn't know her outcome in season 3...

Basically all that might be interesting from the movie, I already learnt it on season 3. I usually think release order is the only way to go, but in this particular case, I would watch it chronologically

I haven't watched Season 3 yet so maybe that's why I'm confused but I honestly didn't have any idea who the antagonist was during most of the movie. All I knew was that somebody wanted some "papers" and they wanted them bad. Kougami's stubborn pride still won't let him apologize to Akane. Akane's idealism was beginning to border on suicidal, before suddenly becoming homicidal at the very end of the movie, contradicting the entire conflict she just went through were she and the crazy religious guy argued nonsensically while never disagreeing.

I feel very strongly that this movie must make more sense in the context of being a prequel, where everything that happened is presumably necessary, and they couldn't have acted more rationally because maybe they do so later in season 3 but on its own when viewing in chronological order it makes me wonder why Akane insisted on taking the law into her own hands unless it was just to clean up the loose end of a villain they created just for this movie, then with no runtime left and needing to be in jail at the start of season 3 she shot Sybil for absolutely no reason at all, and with absolutely no build up.

I actually just watched it and really liked it, multiple great moments, the plot was interesting and I liked the General revelation.

Akane choice at the end also made alot of sense. from how she been all about the law since season 1 using her makashima like asymptomatic abilities to save it makes sense.

it isn't as good as the first series, but in terms of food for thought it had something more than like the first movie or the first sinners of a system.

Plus which of the seasons, movies since it have surpassed it. So I don't go into psycho pass entries expecting them to top it.
Sometimes it takes a real man to be best girl. Gilgamesh is also chad.
