He's mostly been using ground and water magic to create muddy swamps to fight monsters in his guild commissions... Hence the name

It's as simple as looking in a dictionary for the word quagmire, which Google gives the result of "a soft boggy area of land that gives way underfoot." Even back in season 1, one of his main tactics was to trap his enemies in mud that is changed underfoot via magic and you can see the same occur in the 3 episodes of the current season.

Wow … I didn’t know that at all and was wondering why they called him that.

Thank you for explain what the anime failed to explain, I really appreciate it.
Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.

i recently finished all the volumes of jr.....
the author is releasing side stories (some side stories are important like
in the webnovel this chapter was deleted but their relationship was still cannon and till the last volume it was clearly hinted, the author once said he will recreat that chapter I hope he will :)
