I found this page on reddit. At the anime expo the producer for eighty six neither confirm or deny season 3. I really hope we get season 3, I love reading the light novels and I really want to see them animated.

i think 86 is up there with kings game holding the title of 'most wasted potential of all time' so hopefully, there'll never be a 3rd season of a great start followed by an awful ending.

I heard that A-1 Pictures already have a lot of new projects, so if we do get a new season it might take some time.
