Not a horrible start, but the whole "I'm a supernatural prodigy who had no idea I had powers" plot is rather trite.

The key art makes me think the plot isn't going to be much more than a vehicle for a bishonen show. The type of show I usually don't even watch for 1 episode, but I'll give it a shot

Episode 1

And so it begins with Yukito being thrown over the bridge after attending his graduation where he finds out that he has a special power. And then he's dragged over out in the middle of the ocean by Jingi where he meets his guardians. Not a whole lot is revealed here, but nevertheless there's something that has been weighing on my mind in this show.

As this is by the same writer who did K that I came in with some intrigue, but at the same time not with much expectation seeing that these kinds of shows that are all about the pretty boys tend to have me lose interest rather quickly. Well, at least the first episode was decent enough as Yukito is much like with Yashiro in K in that he had been living an ordinary life not realizing that there's a hidden side to him that is crucial to the main plot. At least K had the great visuals and had a pretty good story for the most part even if the storytelling isn't the most ideal. Anyway, not the worst of starts as I was expecting, but even so it's not exactly inspiring.

The green guy is super annoying. He might be enough to get me to quit watching by himself.

Episode 2

And more dull stuff here as Jingi does something he shouldn't have and that caused him to bring about a monster.  Haruaki is there to save their bacon.  And then Yukito is treated to a nice meal of fish curry, all while being told about the Mitama in that what's important is balance.  I'm quickly losing interest in this show as I'm just not getting into it.

Completely average show. They could have made it better if the relationships weren't so vanilla.
