Now for some brief magical girl history there are often two types of magical girls. The Sally type which is based off of the first magical girl anime Sally the witch. This magical girl type is for magical girls born with said powers and are often some sort of magical royalty in the human world for some reason or another. While the Akko type is based off of the first magical girl manga and presumably the second magical girl anime to my knowledge) called Akko-chan’s got a secret. The Akko type magical girl is typically a normal Japanese girl who stumbles into magic one. Usually using magical items such as but not limited to compacts,wands, pens, etc. I found that Akko from little witch academia fits the Akko type magical girl surprisingly well. Do you think it’s on purpose or just an accident.

Well, since Akko-chan is very popular in Japan, it's not like Trigger would've been unaware of Akko-chan. And their full names are also just one character away from being the same, there's basically no chance for it to be a coincidence.
