SHAMAN KING
| i'm really considering watching this anime, i remember watching it as a kid but not remembering the story and such (didn't hooked me as other anime that was on TV like pokemon and DBZ from some reason lol). in other words, i'm considering watching first version and than the remake, if this is like fruits basket or FMA remake that take another approach to the story. or it's like hunter x hunter where the story really kept unchanged except for direction. |
| First anime expanded manga (when it was still following manga) and changes were good. The same story in new version is very rushed and follows manga strictly loosing funny chill moments between major events. Characters feel very flat in new version. |

| Similar to you, I watched it as a child, but prefered it over Pokemon and re-watched it several times on TV. Just finished 2 episodes of the 2021 version, apart from the character design, I'm not hooked yet. I intend on watching and finishing the whole thing, since the 2001 version was my reintroduction to the anime medium. But I'm praying this is just one of those "it get's better as you continue watching it types". |
