I don't like Gon.

Yeah not a fan of Gon either one of my least favorite characters in anime honestly he's just bland, stubborn and selfish. Other characters in HxH are way better Leorio, Kurapika and Killua actually brought life to the show and then Gon sucked it out. Its pretty bad when the villains almost have more favorites than the MC and one of the villains already does.

Togashi apparently made him a simple character purposely to draw more attention to Killua, Leorio, and Kurapika so I don't blame you. He undergoes some character development later on in the series tho.

I think 9 of 10 mc are like him, boring. like..any character in the show more interesting than THE MAIN CHARACTER

I can see why you'd think that. His happy, upbeat disposition definitely masks a lot of the underlying darkness within him that was revealed during the Chimera Ant Arc. Really Gon was always pretty unstable. He grew up largely alone, abandoned by his father in left in the care of Mito. His morals were all skewed, he was reckless, immature, prideful and unequipped with dealing with grief, basically what a child his age is supposed to be when growing up in a less than ideal situation. His edgy-ness during the chimera arc was when he went down the negative spiral, of seeking revenge for kite, no matter the cost. And the result of that was he nearly died because of the nen curse.

Gon is those types of main characters who dont go through character growth, if anything he had negative character growth, but have great effect on the characters around him, particularly Killua who absolutely blossomed as a character due to being friends with Gon.

Yeah I like Killua and Kurapika a lot more. Gon was like.... he's just there, a protagonist that's it. I believe Killua's the main protagonist, he carried literally everything all the way till the ending.

I love Gon. I think because he is 12 he certainly is childish but I mean he is a child. I find it so incredible that we get to watch Gon’s charachter grow and develop as he leaves home & begins to discover how much he cab do. I admire and see some of my younger self in Gon’s optomistic determination to do anything & everything. I also think what makes the show so special is the friendship dynamic between Killua and Gon.

Probably some people thought he was boring because he doesn't have personal traits the other main characters have like luffy being funny and dumb for example. He's more of a calm and realistic character
