This game is about posting quotes. It can come from any reading material (except subtitles).

Rules:
1. Everyone is limited to 2 quotes a day. (Please don't double post)
2. As long as it was something written/typed (but NOT SUBTITLES), you're good. Even if it's on a cereal box.
3. Indicate properly where you read it, who wrote it etc. If you don't know, then just put "unknown".
4. If its a translated quote, please put up the original as well (if you could find it). If not, just indicate that it's translated.

That's all :)

Faraday was asked: "What is the use of this discovery?"
He answered: "What is the use of a child - it grows to be a man."

For there is a very strange peace in giving over your judgement to someone else, to saying to them, "You lead and I will follow, and I wil trust entirely that you will not lead me to death or harm."

The danger of feeding the ego is that, as the ego is fed, it becomes strong. When it becomes strong, it begins to rule us. Soon we are no longer slaves to God; we become slaves to ourselves.

"Do you know what separates the extraordinary from the ordinary?"

"No," I spoke up when he drifted off, "I have no idea."

"It's how they see the world," he replied, a smile resting easy on his lips. "One looks at the world and sees only what he desires, while the other looks at the world and sees all the obstacles that stand between him and his desire, then begins searching for a way to reach it anyway.

"A child dreaming of the impossible is natural, something that everybody goes though. We call children like that normal or healthy. But when a child dreams of the impossible yet actively strives to achieve it anyway...

"That child understood that she needed to sacrifice the pleasures of everyday life if she ever wanted to accomplish her dream." He turned away from the garden and back to me. "And it is precisely that, the willingness to suffer today, and the day after, and the day after that, and many more after that one, it is that commitment which separates those who are ordinary from the extraordinary. They willingly throw themselves into the fire of ambition because they know that only by enduring the heat of its flame, by suffering through the pain of its touch, can they can reap its rewards.

"The hunger that burns in them would accept nothing less."

Maybe it isn't the worst thing to want to be loved, even if you're not. Even if it hurts. Maybe being human isn't always being weak.
