If buyers of giftia must sign a legal agreement beforehand, I don't see how they can't just call the cops if owners refuse to give up their giftia. Especially if giftia become dangerous with time. In fact, the grandma threatened to call the cops on them for being on her property. WTF?

Only seen 1 episode so far but this looks like I'll be asking that question a lot throughout the series.

They themselves act as cops for the company..
And the police have much important stuff to do rather then working for a private company.

The retrievers also have to obey the laws and not trace pass on others property without permission..
Also, its a freakin anime (trying to find logic here is harder then find needle in a haystack)
Focus on the story and leave the logic aside.. its all about the 'core message' and story.

(I should just stop commenting on old threads :/)
