It would be a treat for me if she ends up with Yuzu. Oh God please let Yuzu be happy with Nino. Though I wouldn't know since I only started reading (again) from the start and I'm still on volume 2.

But from the last comments I read somewhere, she was with the other guy. Wait. Momo. I thought I forgot his name. But I'm not sure if they were still together. I would love to read some spoilers.

In the last chapter after a time skip we see Yuzu visiting a singing Nino on the beach apparently showing us that Nino and Yuzu still treasure those times on the beach and that even though Yuzu let Nino go to Momo they still remained friends which is a better way of settling the Team issues in manga

Reading this spoiler literally made me cry! My emotional attachment to Yuzu is so deep and this just hurts so much! Now if Chihaya doesn't end up with Taichi I will never read manga with love triangles again!! 😭😭😭

I agree whole heartedly :-)! To be honest it only makes sense! If she didn't choose him he'd be alone unlike Yuzu who had friends and girls who liked him in plenty. Mo only had Nino after his dad left and his mom turned into a maniac. Yea! Team MoxNino forever!

Sorry I don't agree with either of your teams. I'm all team MoxNino! And Taichi didn't like Chihaya until he saw that she liked Arato. He even shoved her to the ground! :-(! That is so NOT okay! He also kept making decisions for her like she didn't have a brain! Way too controlling for me :-(. Team AratoxChihaya all the way!

(Side note I call him Mo because recently I found out from a teacher relative I have who told my mom of some kind of app named MoMo who threatened little kids saying he'll kill their families if they don't commit suicide. Of course little kids believe that stuff. It also told them not to tell but most kids can't keep secrets and so the teachers found out and have made announcements and stuff to help them know it wasn't true and told their parents about it so they can get rid of the app. Scary, right? But the guy in Anonymous Noise isn't that so I'm making a distinction. So Team Mo for me).

If Nino x Momo was the panned endgame all along,then it probably would’ve been a judicious move to end the romance plot-tumor around volume 12 itself when they were exploring their newfound relationship.That way,more time could’ve been spent on the internal struggles of the characters that sometimes felt rush instead of on relationships melodrama.

I also wouldn’t mind a spin-off centering around Yuzu following the end of the series. Just like Kamio Youko did for Rui in Hana Yori Dango because I honestly felt that the ending portrayed Yuzu as not having had a chance to develop past his relationship with Nino.

Wow I didn't see all that foreshadowing of Yuzu just ending up alone and suppose to have only Alice voice. *sigh* even though everyone says it was expected for Alice to end up with Momo, I still had Hope's that she would end up with Yuzu. Ah even though the ending was kept to have Alice and Yuzu together as friends at the beach and her ending up with Momo, feels so cliche like the rest of the love triangle animes. They always end end up with their first love. I was really looking forward to see a refreshing love triangle anime that ends up with a new love. 😔 Team Yuzu!!!

I never liked Momo. The romantic development between Nino and Momo was very poorly executed. I preferred Yuzu. If they had convinced me that Nino and Momo should be together, I would have no complaints about it, but the ending left a bad taste in my mouth. And that if Nino stayed with Yuzu, Momo would be alone because he has no friends (?) It would be his problem, and not hers, I think ;(

Men story was incredible,although nino don't ended up with yuzu it's was for good.momo trusted his love and let her go to fly high and achieve her dreams,I read many love triangle manga and I can say it that momo had strong feeling for nino then yuzu.yuzu always wanted nino for himself and did everything possible that made me feel he's a selfish. Speaking of momo he always loved her but let her go which only true love can do.
It was obvious for first love to win,and nino has feeling for yuzu to but it was not love.
Don't hate momo he was a wise man that deserved to be happy.

i am here from almost 2023 and i just watched the anime but sadly there is only 1 season, i really wanted to say my opinion about the ending ( which i read from comments )
in beg i was TOTTALLLYY momo's side but with the anime showing yuzu's love toward nina i changed sides because yuzu truly sacrificed every single thing he got for nina he has always trying to protect her smile over his dead soul he was truly suffering through the whole anime that i felt bothered by watching this ..... it was not fun anymore the writer was doing extra torture for this character
but then at the last episode when i learned that momo left to protect nina i felt un certain about which one i want nina to end with
if the writer didn't torture yuzu this much i would have gone back to 100% be on momo's team
but now i just want yuzu to be happy over nina's dead soul i want him to be the lead of this anime and i just want him to be happy :( and i don't think nina deserves him she is SO SELF CENTER

Was I the only one who absolutely despised Momo? From the very beginning, I was team Yuzu and I was ABSOLUTELY DISTRAUGHT when Nino & Momo got together in the end.
The author is amazing and can do whatever they want but I was crushed. Stilled enjoyed the series though.

BUT REALLY NINO!? OPEN UR EYESSS!!!!! YUZU IS LIKE 100 TIMES BETTER THAN MOMO (my personal opinion). Let's compare shall we

Yuzu: supportive of her no matter what, she said it herself "her voice belongs to yuzu", he can sing, was always there for her, helped her breathe again, we love a good friends-to-lovers relationship, treats her better than momo, writes songs about/for her and her only... I COULD GO ON

Momo: told her that her voice wouldn't sell, flat out ignored her, can't sing (he's really bad at it), wrote songs for money, left her without reasons like 3 times, the reason she couldn't breathe, kinda a d*ck, ect

You don't have to agree with what i've said and you con like whoever you want. But personally, i just dislike momo and think nino should've ended up with my boy yuzu. Sad it didn't happen though. Also, this was just a rant based on my personal opinions so no hate pls

I agree with most of the points you said about how the characters are and how they acted towards nino. Alongside that the chemistry between yuzu and nino was much better in my opinion than momo and nino.

The rest of what I have to say is a lot so a quick rundown on the rest of it is that yuzu is a stronger character with more growth, causes more growth for Nino, fits better as the end pairing because of the theme of the end and how he represents that theme as a character, and lastly the way the “rejection” of yuzu happened felt like a tease by the author in a bad way. I put my thoughts in more detail below if you want more explanation for any of them.

Another thing that bothered me was how yuzu was the driving factor for a lot of nino’s growth as a character especially in the latter part of the series. Any of her character growth related to momo seems really forced by the author when it is for a positive reason or the change is sparked by some negative action by momo that hurts Nino which lead to yuzu playing a role in helping here recover and grow from it.

Along with how each helped Nino grow as a character yuzu himself as a character had much more growth throughout the show and actually overcame his psychological and family issues. Him repairing his relationship with his mother in itself is far beyond what momo does in total character growth let alone his relationship with his own mother. Then there’s him overcoming the psychological barrier that kept him from singing. Also him learning to let Nino be free and explore more things with music rather than being possessive and trying to keep her to himself. Meanwhile the only two instances of character growth are when he finally tells Nino he loves her showing he learned to be honest about his feelings and when he breaks up with her overcoming his possessiveness and allowing her to grow without him. And that second one he really doesn’t have to grow because of it since after that happens it is very obvious that they will get back together at some point by the end of the series

To me with the theme of change being a good thing and something not to be afraid of it seems that it would’ve been more thematically appropriate for Nino to end up with yuzu. I say this because the way I felt reading, momo stood for stagnation and the past meanwhile yuzu represented change and the future.

Last thing that bothered me with the way it ended was that Nino says that her voice belongs to yuzu even though throughout the series she was always singing for momo. I understand this was meant to be like a consolation prize in a way for readers that wanted yuzu to end up with Nino in a “look he’s as satisfied that her voice belongs to him as he would be if she loved him back” but to me it came off as pandering. This felt like a tease and a way to force a “happy” ending for yuzu’s romance and him as a character. Ultimately this was a fairly good series that had a bad and unsatisfying ending which is disappointing since the end of a series in this genre has a lot to do with how it ends.
