I first found out about Culdcept the First Volume laying randomly on the ground of my dorm room, and I immediately fell in love with it (especially Najaran she's soo cute and funny)
Then on 2024 I suddenly remembered about a manga that the premise of the story is Card battle summoners (I only read the First Vol back in the day) but I forgot what the name of the series is , I start searching online to find what it is. Story of a Female dark skinned main character with a talking staff,robot Knight,goblin and Beelzebub. And to my suprised, I found nothing. Like,at all so I was like huh is the series that Unpopular ( well... unfortunately yes) but I didn't give up and start searching everywhere ,even asking AI
And on Reddit I finally have some people that also remembers the story but don't actually know what it's called so we chat on the posts blablabla , but in the end,we can't really remember it. I still searching and searching trying to find a clue.
Sure after some time actually forgets it, but on July 2025 my brain just tickle my thoughts and reminded me of it againnn ughh, so I dig and Digg the internet once more to find a Clue (again) , after hours and hours of Search endlessly , I thought , "hey,isnt AI already smart enough now to find something like this" so I use chatgpt , I still saved the prompt:
Plot, fight with cards that turn into monster or mecha depends on the user cards , not like Yu-Gi-Oh, the cards literally transform into it kinda like summoning , thats the first chapter of the story
Characters names I forgot, but the MC is a young girl black skin witch with short hair , her companion is her Robot cards summoning and a talking walking stick
Art style it's modern but kinda comes out a long time ago I think
Genre is action
I found the manga laying on the floor
Scenes are the girl fights in a arena 1v1 (other also 1v1 in the same arena in the background) . She fights a dude with a summoning cards of goblin , many goblin that exploded when you kill them, she fights the goblin with her robot( her cards summon) to fight the goblin in the end she won and was taken to the king's palace to get rewarded,but it reveals that it was a trap!! Set by a Beelzebub that wears the skin of the king as a disguise,she was tied upand can't use her knight because she left it (also her companion the talking stick also get tied up) but in the end she was saved by other fighters.
Andd it...Need more information...buttt I gave like the release date, and artstyle of the manga and I said the manga start with V ( it's C lol) but the AI TO MY SUPRISE ACTUALLY FOUNDDD ITTT IM SOOO HAPPY YOU AT THAT TIMEEE YOU KNOW HOW MUCHHH TIME DO I SPENTTT TO- ekhem... My bad, no kid, I was that excited. Finally found the title "CULDCEPT". and The thing is , gpt got that information from Reddit tracing it back to the same post that I commented above , but since then the Creator of the post updated it to "edit : my friend know the title it was actually culdcept" thus, the search for the missing amazingly unique manga, comes to and end. Or did it?
Yeah,reading manga online is kinda not my thing (it hurts my eye) having a physical book of the manga is so different, and hey, I would love to collect all CULDCEPT manga from Vol 1 to 6 (sad that I found out it's only have 6 Volumes, damn u PS2, if that's the reason? Cuz CULDCEPT is on Dreamcast only right) but uhh no prob then I can just buy all of the volumes right away , but hey ,I know this is gonna happens, CULDCEPT manga is kinda hard to finds, eventually I found a couple of them but some of it solds out ,and from Vol 1 to another is all on different sellers, not to mention vol 6 can't be found anywhere, but after searching about 5 days, I come across sellers that have vol 1-6 complete for pretty cheap price compared to other sellers that sells it 2x the price (i thought it's more expensive because it's new but that's not the case) so I bought from the other guy for IDR 90.000 only.
To Shinya kaneko, thank you for making CULDCEPT(and Najaran). I love culdcept more than I love my girlfriend. Thank you for making this compelling story , Amazing art ,and lovely characters from CULDCEPT manga , I do really really REALLY enjoyed it ( I laughed so much from reading it and cry too...) great humour, great story, great arc. Again thank you for all of this.
