As a reminder, India is a grouped country with the clan Houjou (just like france is with mouri, the otoman empire with Oda, and so on).And well, it's a spoiler but it's also not a spoiler since those books are for Japanese customers, who know of this very well : Houjou is a major clan who doesn't survive the sengoku era, falling after having revolted themselves by Toyotomi's repression and Matsudaira motonobu's "betrayal" of their former alliance. They fall around the same period of time as Oda is assassinated (a bit before). This has already be enacted where I am, so there won't be any more representative from Houjou. Former representative, maybe. Although, it isn't clear of what will happen afterward to India. Will probably go under Matsudaira (IE horizon/toori)'s authority just like they were under Houjou for a while, until they can claim back the real country of India by colonizing it again.
Anyway, to answer that question, we saw 4 representative from Houjou/India.
-Houjou Ujinao, chancellor+president of council.
-Houjou Ujiteru, vice chancelor, a battle freak who just like Ujinao converted himself as an automaton just because this would make him stronger in battle (note: he choose a female body even though he's male, for... perverted reasons lol).
-Fuuma Kotarou, a Maus able to remotely control complete squads of soulless automatons and god of wars, she could be considered the personal guard of Ujinao, and
-the vice president of the council, I forgot his name but you posted a pic of his mecha fighting with Satomi Yoshiyasu's "Gi" on the first page of this thread. He's an old long lived I think.
Oh, and obviously, Noriki is from india as well, and most probably Hassan too (although we really lack information about this guy...).

The guy with glass is the very "annoying" vice president of council from Date lol.
The second pic isn't a "lady", it's a trap (Toori). Same outfit as the cover of the 5-B volume x).

Just noticed I missed some questions

Leave it to Kawakami-sensei to create a tentacle-species.Is he just a tentacle or does he have other appendages like eyes?

On that note, I was reading about the three musketeers, their obviously all automatons, but are they all huge, or only Isacc?

He has eyes somehow
here yo ucan see him at the bottom : http://baka-tsuki.org/project/images/2/2b/Horizon4C_0665.jpg

Only Isacc is huge, as he's a god of war whereas others are automatons. Although a similar technology is used for Mazarin.

Actually those eyes sort of make him look adorable, and they remind me of Nenji!
Also that's a pretty good disguise for Toori, even by his own standards, but I guess I am wondering why he choose to dress up like that?

Now that you mention it, this indeed looks like Nenji's face lol xD.
Yeah, that's kinda cute. But well, it's a cute tentacle :D

He often dresses with very well done female disguise actually. He completely dumbfounded all the men attending the meeting in England as well. And deceived another guy by disguising as a miko after this pic as well. up to the point that (spoiler volume 12 )

Don't forget who Toori has a contract with. Getting naked often is logical, but performing trick of all kind properly to amuse others is also logical x). Dressing as female is natural in traditional Nou theatre for example, since all the performers were male, even for female roles.

So who was the lucky guy?
Also I found out that Moori has a crush on Naomasa( at least according to the Japanese wiki), which is pretty funny. Also according to the Japanese wiki, there is another one of the oni named Oniniwa-Tsuna-moto, who is part of Sendai Date.
Oh and is there a picture of Magoichi Suzuki in the novels?
and are the pope and Galileo still causing problems for Musashi?

It's

Poor guy really doesn't have any luck with "women". Especially considering he usually has so much of them around him, this shows again how little luck he has with them x).

Aah, Oniniwa. That's the leader of the elite god of war squad from Date IIRC. Rank is 2nd Special Duty I believe.
I don't think we ever saw him outside of his god of war, so there's no description of him. That's very possible indeed. But since we never saw him outside, obviously, no pic of him, either.

There's several pic of magoichi. She usually is around Kuki in battles (I mean somewhere a few kilometers around) so the first time we see her is in the 3rd arc, and I posted a pic of her already in this thread (the pic was to show kuki, but she was on it as well :
http://www.baka-tsuki.org/project/images/3/33/Horizon3B_0779.jpg
Magoichi usually fights at long range with insanely powerful and precise gun/canon strikes.

Yeah, Mori has a crush on Naomasa. That's a weird pairing indeed x)

The pope and Galileo? Nah. BEsides, I think the pope is actually secretly quite fond of Masazumi after his encounter with her, since he usually rejoices about her winning negotiations.
But more like, the pope has worse problems to take care of than Musashi. Far, far huger problems. So he would never have the time to care to begin with.

Yeah about the Pope's problems, I read that he is missing, and Hashiba is in line for the papacy, is that true(unless if it's a spoiler then don't tell me and I'll just wait to read it on my own)

I also have a question about the novels as a whole, would you say they have been improving as time goes by, or have they been declining in quality?
Oh and in your opinion, are the Pope and Galileo dead?
Oh and who is the one who's name translates to small princess(as a joke) is it this person(warning:this is from novel 7-C, so I think you only want to click if you have read to that point)http://dengekibunko.dengeki.com/books/1406hrizon7-3/?page=9

Quality varies. ImO so far the best was the third arc, although the 7th arc is very nice so far, this may be my new favorite by the end of the 7-C. at least for now 7a and 7-b are a bit above 3a and 3b, it's definitely the best "first part" of an arc I've seen so far.

I think the Pope is alive. Galileo... 50/50, I'd say.

I looked quickly at the pic, didn't recognize her, although that hair style remind me of someone else. maybe a new character from Sweden. It seems this pic is almost at the beginning of the 7-C, and I will start reading the 7-C this Sunday, so I should have the answer very quickly.

So to answer the question above. The "little princess" doesn't seem to be any of the character on the image linked.
The character we're seeing on the pic are
the huge one (more than 3 meter tall) : Shima Sakon, an underclassman from MHRR (she's 20 years old, but is still only in 3rd year of middle school, due to the fact that she wasn't able to go to school for 5 years (don't know why, yet))
the normal sized one : katou kiyomasa, number 2 of the SPEER.

The only character I can think of with "princess " in her name are Komahime and Yoshihime, but I don't think they were ever called 'small princess". The only character I can think of usually called 'princess" is Terumoto. Also, the brooms of the two SPEER technohexen are called white princess and black princess but that's about it.

Okay, little princess was the translation google was giving me on the Japanese wiki. But they also referred to her as "island sakon" which means they had literally translated Shima. She looks like a pretty fun character though!

So how is the final volume of the 7th arc so far, any more weird characters pop up. Also I saw a picture of Ootani confronting a cat, was he shrun or something, and what has he been doing lately. Also any more info on Shima Sakon, she seems like a very interesting character?

I finished it yesterday. Some of the questions you asked before were answered in there. We have the explanations about Tomoe Gozen's "husband" Minamoto Yoshinaka, who is dead since like 5 hundred of years, and the tragedy/ Love triangle/ complex relationship and deceptions surrounding him.
There's also the development of a strange pair of character who will mostly fight together from now on, Shima Sakon and Onitakemaru. When we were first introduced to Shima Sakon, I found her pretty bland, but combined with Onitakemaru, those two become quite an interesting addition to the cast.
And you were right, Shima Sakon was nicknamed "kohime" (literally "little princess") by Onitakemaru. That's not to poke fun of her though. He's taller than her, and it's a parallel with his long dead daughter, Oohime ( literally big/great princess) toward who he has many regrets. The relationship those two are developing is like a mentor/Student, or a father/daughter.
It seems like from now on, Sakon is going to use "kohime" as her alias on that divine chat.

Ootani 's body is information, and he took some serious attacks near the end of a fight which almost wiped the infos out, thats why he shrunk. After a day, he was back to his normal size, so that's not a problem.
Lately... He took several bombs head on after being mistaken for a rapist. Looks like that wasn't his day xD.

We saw a lot more or Mitsunari 's abilities. I was wondering how useful she was, looks like when she's at the head of an army, the result is quite impressive after all. She definitely is NOT Musashi's equivalent. Besides, Musashi's equivalent is Aduchi.

About the 7th arc as a whole, most of the arc (from the 16th volume to the 400th page in the 18th volume) is a single huge war, which was awesome on all point. best and longest war so far in Horizon. Awesome strategies, negotiations while the war was raging on, and awesome feats from single heroes as well as from more normal troops. And The last 600 pages is a second battle happening right afterward. This one brings interesting things like the relationship sakon/onitakemaru I talked above, as well as one or two interesting fights; However as a whole, I think the author dragged on far too much Niwa's trap, so it's more of the usual Horizon's standard. After the awesomeness of the previous one, I regret a bit that the author choose to use those 600 pages as the end of the 7th arc. Putting that war a little earlier and finishing with the end of the first one would have made a far more epic ending.

Still, That was a really good arc. While the best end of an arc is still the end of the third arc imo, outside of that part, the 7th arc is superior to all the others arc ImO.

Sorry i forgot, which one is Onitakemaru.Oh and it seemed like the Japanese wiki was saying that even though she is 3 meters tall, because she is thin, Sakon only has strength proportional to her body size.

Sakon has enormous strength. She's always restraining herself by fear of wounding others around her.
Onitakemaru is a character appearing a little after Sakon. He's a dead soul affixed into an 4 meter tall armor made especially for Sakon. He was a general in the past and his history is linked to Yoshinaka's tragedy.

Oh, I must of been interpreting that wrong then. I guess it's just Kawakami's style to have people who don't look it actually be really strong like Turenne and Sakon(though Sakon is really tall, so at least that makes her strenght more obvious). Onitakemaru seems really interesting, I hope we see more of Sakon and him ( I like her design a lot, from that picture she seems really adorable).

Yeah, bear in mind that two of the girls with the most strengh are basically Mitotsudaira and Kasuya, and their body look more or less like a normal adolescent girls (except for the eyes) after all. Turenne is quite tall as well, around 2 meters I believe.

Considering the author took quite a lot of time starting to develop the relationship between the two, I think you can be sure that we're going to see them quite often in the future. In fact, most probably, every single time Mitsunari is involved, since she's under her orders. And Mitsunari should, for historical reasons, be very important in the future.
Like I said above, my first impression of Sakon (including he picture) was that she was a very bland character, so I my first impression of her was the opposite of yours x).

Ah, sorry for the late answer, wasn't here for one week. Anyway,

No, it seems I'm not the only one around but the only one vocal about it on MAL, that's for sure.
Read in Japanese after buying the books. All the available english translations for KyouHora are on Baka Tsuki.

2kyuu should be enough. It's not like I'm higher overall. I simply read a lots of books so I'm used to it now. Although maybe you should start with other and simpler light noel since KyouHora is definitely not in the easy category for LN, starting with it may be a bit harsh for a start. I started with easy manga like you, read a lot of them, going for harder manga until reaching seinen manga, then switched to light novels. I think some manga I read are actually harder to read than most LN. Some seinen manga are quite difficult imo. A manga is quicker to read, obviously~

Hmm, the only thing about Kanji I own is the Jiten "Kodansha's Kanji Learner Dictionnary". Which is good, but I don't think what you want is a Jiten, so can't help you there.

if you're 2kyuu you should know around 1k kanji right? If that's so, then that's definitely enough to read LNs.
Japanese idioms aren't that frequent to begin with, as in, when the authors uses some, he often uses the same several times rather than lots of different. the "人を呪わば穴二つ" often appear for example in curse-related stories.
When you encounter one, just google it/uses online dictionaries with idioms categories.
Rather than using general textbook (I have some as well though), because ImO those are made to be used with a professor most of the time; I found more beneficial to use specialized books for each part of the language. For grammar for example, on top of the Kunio Kuwae (French/japanese) I used books like the 完全マスター series, and so on.

For Business Japanese, I don't think I can help you. I was never interested in learning the language with business in mind.

Little question about the romance department. Tenzou gets his girl and as far as I know Kiyonari does so, too and since nate is one of my favorites, does she find a soulmate in the series? I think it's hinted a bit that she has feelings for Tori (If I got that right). Any info on that?^^

Very partially though, since it's one of the most rushed LN adaptation ever.

yes. Also you get used to the specific vocabulary after a while, which is the main difficulty compared to other LN. So the most difficult to read is probably volume 1, after that the more you read the less problem you have with it.

So did you finish reading Volumes 8 A B and C? if so, were there any bizarre new characters introduced, especially non-human ones? and though I know it's probably a long shot, did Christopher Hatton happen to make any appearances in this latest batch of volumes(or any new undead characters for that matter)?

Yes, I finished 8 C around 2 months ago.

There wasn't a lot of new characters introduced in there, and most of them are either human or automatons. No new bizarre character IIRC. They weren't in places with undeads around so no new undead. The English cast doesn't appear at all (contrary to the Spanish cast btw) in the 8th arc so no Hatton.

8Th volume is a preparation for the next arc mostly, that should be one of the climax of this series.

@ConfusedEggplant Hatton appears during the second half of the final volume (with the full English cast, all here for the "last battle") "alive" (well, just as dead of a skeleton as before, but just as lively despite his appearance, I mean) and "well" .
So this confirms for good that he wasn't killed during the battle in arc 2.
His role is really minor however, but he's definitely here and participating.
