Feel free to jump in and make comparisons if you have read the novel or watched the English versions prior to the release of this series.

Just finished watching all 10 episodes. Whee!

I like some changes they made to the show. In the original version, Sara's fellow servant was a girl, not a boy, so there wasn't any romance. Now that they changed the girl to a boy, we can see some romance.

I don't like the ending for Kaito/Seira though. I was hoping they do something similar to what happened in the original novel. You know, where the rags-to-riches Sara hired her fellow servant to be her maid. Here I was thinking Kaito could be Seira's butler instead. Like Hayate/Nagi in Hayate the Combat Butler. I like the ojou-sama/butler love affair angle. Too bad Kaito had to go off and further his studies.

And well, since this is a Japanese remake, I was hoping some yuri-ai. But no... if only this was an anime...

This show has a happy ending for all parties unlike in the novel where the antagonists suffered retribution. Some of my friends liked the ending. I have mixed feelings. I still can't forgive the director (Chieko) for ruining the birthday party. I was like WTF? Couldn't she wait for a couple more hours before breaking the bad news? Why charge in like a mad woman?

On the other hand, Chieko is a complex character. We see snippets of the past of Young Chieko and Seira's mother. So we know Chieko used to have a nice side. But her memories of Seira's mother turned her into a bitter and hard woman. Maybe she doesn't deserve the really bad ending I have in mind for her.

The only truly obnoxious jerks without any good qualities in the show are the cook and his wife. They should have gotten fired at the end. Instead, they only got demoted.

Did you guys notice any other changes or are there any changes you would like to make?
