| Just wondering why the creator would use such an old plane (that never actually made it past the experimental stage) in an anime that supposedly about a hundred years into the future. Not that the TSR-2 is or was a bad aircraft but out of all the curentally existing plane's Why a Cold War era plane? Anyone have any thoughts? >TSR-2 (XR-227)< |

According to this observation, it takes place in 2024, which, at the time of the series airing, was only twenty years ahead in the future. But the aforementioned observation, if it's correct, arises another observation: if you remember, at the beginning of episode two it was said that the incoming meteors were discovered for 50 years prior to the actual encounter, which means that that was not later than 1974! So the events in this anime timeline were already different from the history we know, and that may very well include TSR-2 |
