190,000 people evacuated in Fukuoka Prefecture due to mass flooding. Hopefully Kobako is safe and dry.

GulfStandard | Mar 13, 2012 11:57 PM
Evidently, in the latest issue of Comic Blade, Kobako Totan has an 18-page story concerning "Bishoujo Mecha Espoir".

Deal with that.

Interestingly, I passed by the store today, was able to request the order for the LE specifically, but whether the order will succeed is a mystery until they send me the postcard telling me whether it came in or not. Crossing my fingers for that.

In the meantime, the one thing I do know *is* coming to my mailbox -- the lone Sketchbook doujin from C81. Pretty excited.

That thing definitely weighs more than Sora.

Kinokuniya isn't coming through big for me this time. When I ordered Sangatsu no Lion 6 from them, I believe I received it one calendar day after its Japanese release date. When that happened, I thought human society had advanced to the point where nothing was impossible. They still show Sketchbook 8 as out of stock, however. Granted, Sangatsu no Lion is a much more popular series than Sketchbook.

While waiting, I couldn't restrain myself from downloading a few of the volume 8 chapters in Chinese scanlation. Apparently Takane has a cat the size of like a #&$%ing deer? Who knew?

The special edition has a slightly different cover.

Also: the vol. 8 LE comes with this totebag (as opposed to the one that's shown on the MAG Garden store):

Happy volume 8 release date~

Gonna attempt to order the limited edition (feat. totebag) through US Kinokuniya; if it succeeds, I'll mention it.

Volume 8 to be released in January 2012. There's a special edition, too, that comes with this totebag -> http://mag-garden-store.com/shopdetail/009005000006/095/004/order/

Working off of memory here, but I'll get the link for you guys later once I get off of school. No cover art yet, or at least none that I've seen.

Why does the MAL picture for Katagiri Himeko look nothing like Katagiri Himeko looks or has ever looked?

Spiritsnare | Jul 21, 2011 12:49 PM
スケッチブック⑧マダー?

In the meantime, for the people who use Twitter and don't mind an extra tweet or two an hour, check out @sketchbookbot and @sketchbookbotEN. There's also a standalone Sora bot (in Japanese) at @KajiwaraSoraBot.

Will Sketchbook see a volume 9?

GulfStandard | Mar 14, 2011 3:57 PM
The earthquake has been upgraded to 9.0 on the Richter scale.

Magnitude nine.

April already...

Spiritsnare | Feb 24, 2011 10:28 PM
April 2011 Blade has a Sketchbook cover! And an extra comic!!

http://mag-garden-store.com/shopdetail/002002000041/

"Warm and fluffy ♪
The laid-back art club 4-koma appears on the front cover!!
We've also got an extra chapter for you!"

The cover looks like it features just the main art club cast, naturally.

Absolutely. Happy birthday, Kajiwara-san.

Strangely, while we know her brother is 13, we don't actually know how old Kajiwara-san herself is; presumably 15 or 16.
