No you right she never did consume souls. In fact, the manga suggested it more than the anime. Scary how people make an assumption based on their attitude on the character. |

Kikyo did not consume souls whatsoever. There is no evidence that back up that claim while it was stated numerous times that she "borrowed" their powers.Was it morally wrong? I'd say probably yes. Was it a crime? No it wasn't. Especially not for a woman who's been resurrected and thus "cursed" against her own will. I think Kikyo's eventually managing to mostly regain her old self is a testimony to her purity and exceptional spiritual and will power. Inuyasha's group taking her away from the barrier at Mt. Hakure is a strong evidence that she didn't consume souls otherwise the main cast would all be rendered evil or selfish because they were helping her doing that without thinking twice (saving Kagome who was uncontrollably jealous, it had nothing to do with morality) Even though they were alive and kicking, mentally sane and everything. Also souls didn't have any consciousness, so using them is likely akin to the harm a man can cause on nature rather than abusing or murdering a living creature. Existing as resurrected corpses probably indirectly damages the ecosystem of the inuyasha universe by temporary causing souls to take longer to be reincarnated or something along these lines. In Inuyasha, a consciousness and a soul are two separate things or else we wouldn't have Kikyo and Kagome co-existing. The soul is apparently immortal (Kikyo and Kagome's souls are one) but the consciousness will have their ends unless resurrected through evil means (which in a way implies even consciousnesses are immortal as well but in a slumber-like state) When Resurrected-Kikyou passed away, she didn't have her life force (be it consciousness or soul) merge back to Kagome. It's a bit confusing. Would a typical Miko (Priestess) eradicate entities like Resurrected-Kikyo on the spot regardless of whether they're good or evil? maybe most of them will. But a genuinely wise priestess like Kikyo would never approach things in such silly manner. She couldn't even kill Hakushin, instead, she felt bad for him, embraced him gently, comforted and convinced him to disappear in his own terms. That was despite his causing harm, having assisted Naraku revive which lead to her 2nd tragic demise. |

She was still pretty much forcing said soul to remain with her until she was finished with it denying the soul a chance to move on, I will grant you it is not like the souls could have used whatever residual power remained in them, but technically speaking her very exstaince was an unnatural one which I am sure most other priestesses would have seen as an unforgivable way to exsist thus would have tried to extinguish her.I don't think they would have succeeded but still. And in the dubed version someone says that she consumes the souls of the dead, it may have even been her saying it. |

Oh please there is not a jilted woman anywhere that has not wished that the other woman would disapear.Give her credit for not actively trying to RE-kill her, because she might have been able to do it. And would have been right in doing so if you think about it because Kikyou lived by basically consuming the souls of the dead. |

im a huge fan of kikyo, kagome doesn't deserve inuyasha, she is spoiled and is a terrible reincarnation of kikyo.kikyo is the most tragic character in the series and has sacrificed alot and all she wanted was to be an ordinary woman and be with inuyasha, yes she tried to do away with inuyasha once but that was because she didn't know it was naraku who framed them both. inuyashas group treats kikyo like shes a bad person and shes getting in the way, ok kagome has helped like that child's spirit and a few others il give her that,, but kagome has wished kikyo would disappear from there lives twice and throws a tempertantrum when ever inuyasha goes to kikyo making him site or just turns away from him. shippo - inuyashas a two timer sango - * she said a few things but i cant remember * miraku - be considerate about kagomes feelings kagome was suppose to be pure of heart but her heart was full of jealously towards kikyo. and if it wasnt for kikyo dying then kagome wouldn't of come in to this world. sorry but kikyo deserves inuyasha more then that spoiled brat kagome |

;3 ofc, Kikyo is one of the best females charas in anime^.^ nowadays the anime girls are filled with fanservice and are damsels in distress. That´s Why I love Kikyo, she can defend herself and she does not need to offer fanservice XD |

@Raven: Yeah, that and because in the anime they made Kikyo do things she didnt even do in the manga. Remember the episode where she threatened Inu with a knife? Doesnt exist in the manga, in the manga she hugs him back and doesnt even resists, also when he is hurt she goes to him and hugs him unlike the anime version where she stands on a top of a tree speaking coldly to him. And I could continue but its useless. I Still believe Inu loved Kikyo more than Kagome. (I have a list with reasons, LOL).@Fuyu-chan: Kikyo does not need many fans, we´re enough, we´re small but we are loyal and supportive XD Its like we´re in a concert and while Kagome fans are in the crowd shouting, we are sat on the VIP area laughing. Sorry, random comparison, just felt like doing it XD Anyway I dont hate Kagome, but I cant even compare her to Kikyo-sama. Kikyo is just...amazing. Too amazing. There´s no words for such badass beauty, power, attitude, heart. *.* |
