There is no need to grind anymore! The new areas (Abyssea) offer insane amounts of experience points if you do them correctly. I went from 75-80, capped buffer, capped merits, and 9999/10000, in all of a five hour party.

I recently left FFXI ( Asura Server) and after watching Welcome to the N.H.K I feel quite relieved I did ahaha. Well, this is the 2nd time I've quit and I doubt I'll be coming back to the game anytime soon, but I do miss it! With the new level caps raised to 80 then to 99, I can't be asked with the grind anymore.
