@ap19: Thank you very much for a help. Wow, for once, the think that I have wrote doesn't sound as much terrible as normal. :) Yes, I mentioned earlier that I will use a proper name not a 日本人チーム. Also as mentioned, the text about Tokyo was an answer for a question. それは、本当に面白くあり得ます。→関心を示したく存じます。 Your original sentence doesn't sound Japanese, as DreamingBeats mentioned. Thank you! I had a terrible time trying to translate it. For some reason the sentence that was the easiest one in Polish, gave me the biggest problems in Japanese. I'm really grateful! I hope that you rest well during your vacations. :) |

ご無沙汰しております。日本人チームにお目にかかる機会があればとても嬉しいです。 はい、東京に滞在しています。 I'm assuming you're not using 日本人チーム in your actual composition. それは、本当に面白くあり得ます。→関心を示したく存じます。 Your original sentence doesn't sound Japanese, as DreamingBeats mentioned. I'm also going to assume you're putting 滞在しています in a proper context and not suddenly saying "Yes I'm staying in Tokyo" without necessary references to previous messages. 滞在しています→滞在しております (if you already are in Tokyo, as DreamingBeats said) If it's still a plan, then 滞在する予定で(ございま)す is more appropriate. |

(and a nice vacation for @ap19 :p) |
DreamingBeats | Feb 20, 2016 12:35 AM
i think you meant "Japanese band" instead of "Japanese team" |
DreamingBeats | Feb 20, 2016 12:04 AM
ah..Japanese artists. when you said "Japanese team", i thought you meant from a sport like baseball or something... :p |

@ap19: Have a nice vacation! :)@DreamingBeats: thank you very much. [qoute]i could be wrong, but using お目にかかる here seems to imply that you hold a Japanese team (that is, the players from the team) to be of a higher social status than you.[/qoute] In fact, they are. It is the team of Japanese artists, that are popular not only in home country but also abroad. About name, there will be one, I just changed name to Japanese team for privacy. |

i could be wrong, but using お目にかかる here seems to imply that you hold a Japanese team (that is, the players from the team) to be of a higher social status than you. not sure if that's natural.also, you're showing an interest in meeting a Japanese team, but the lack of specificity - not telling which teams you're particularly interested in, seems to imply that you're really not that interested in the first place. or maybe i'm reading too much into it. |

滞在しています → 滞在しますしています implies that you are already in Tokyo or しようと思います if you want to make it a bit more polite. それは、本当に面白くあり得ます。 あり得る refers to the likelihood of something happening i'm not sure the sentence here makes sense. feels like a google-translate sentence tbh. |

I'll need some time on this one. I'm currently on vacation;; |

I would be grateful if someone could check my writing. (I dropped the start and ending, they will be in final version of course.)I can't put the full letter that I have received, but there were part about meeting some people that I would like to meet. At the end there were a question if I'm going to stay in Tokyo. I appreciate any comment, thank you very much. ------------------------------------------------------------ Edit: I completely forgot about English translation. |

I found this earlier as suggestion to improve your listening with the use of music: http://lyricstraining.com/ No idea if this works, but... |

It is not exactly about learning Japanese, more like interesting collaboration of Poland and Japan: http://www.dinos.co.jp/p/1233401495/ (Polish one is without hole). |

thanks for the correction ^^need to be more careful with particles :p |

申し訳ございません。私はap19様とDreamingBeats様からのお答えを見ませんでした。I tried to translate something from Polish, as there is no good version of what I wanted to say in English. Looks like I failed. The closest translation to English that I can create is "One way or another, this is also an answer". |

➡︎葛西さんを知ってるYour original sentence equates to 葛西さんがスキーに興味がある人を知ってる |
DreamingBeats | Feb 4, 2016 1:03 PM
どうでしょうね。スキーに興味がある人は葛西紀明さんが知ってるかもしんないけど。。 |
ap19 | Feb 4, 2016 12:14 PM
知ってる人は知ってるし、知らない人は知らないって感じだね。誰しもが知ってるってわけじゃないと思う。Yes, it's a reply to your question. I don't know what you wanted to say there. |

スポーツは何一つ分からないので、他の人に聞いてみるよ。 |

I was always wondering, is Noriaki Kasai (葛西紀明) popular in Japan? In Poland he is probably the most famous Japanese (and almost a hero to many ski jumping fans). |
