Oh, I know zen - the main relationship is that the same author wrote both series. And yes, one of the big differences is that it's at college rather than HS. Actually quite unusual for an anime

As I said, I'm liking what I've seen in the first 5 episodes, but there are still 19 more to go.

Other than the pentagonal structure (hexagonal if 2D ever gets to have a real girlfriend) and the general rom-com standard of people who are in love with "the wrong person" there aren't many real storyline similarities between Toradora! and Golden Time. Sure, at first you have the male protagonist trying to help the female protagonist with the guy she likes, but at the same time he is trying to help the guy avoid her.

That said, there is a very similar vibe to it, since it is by the same author, in the same way that the Evergreen manga has a similar feel to it as well.

I strongly recommend it!

Do remember that it takes place in college, not high school, and there is occasionally behavior that is a bit more mature... or immature but with mature themes... than in something like Toradora! I just don't want people going into it thinking that it is really like high school rom-coms and
There should be more of those coming this week...

Clannad was alright, I kind of fell asleep at some episodes.
But the only reason why I'd recommend anyone watch Clannad is to get to Clannad AS. Literally, one of my favorite animes of all time.

I'm really liking golden Time. I'll be watching Clannad as soon as I'm finished with Inu X Boku SS

clannad is amazing. if u can get past the slow start you will melt your heart in gushy feels. the good kind of gushy feels. Clannad After story is one of the best things i've watched.

And golden time looks to be a lot like toradora. 2 ppl not meaning to fall in love just go right out and do it even though other people are in love with them. (At east I think its whats gonna happen)

Are there any storyline similarities between Golden Time & Toradora!?

Also, I'm told that if you like Toradora!, you should watch Clannad. Yet I'm also told it can be boring as hell. Recommendations?

Golden Time is very reminiscent if Toradora! in the story telling style, but the characters and the scenarios are all fresh and new. It is also fantastic!

First, someone needs to put in a [/color] in the HTML coding.
Second, maybe Golden Time needs to be afflilated since it is being done by the same mangaka.

Oh, cool. Didn't know there was a relation between Toradora and Golden Time. I have the first episode on Crunchyroll, so I'll check it out.

I know this is a bit of a tangent, the author of Toradora has written a new series and it will be part of the Fall 2013 season. It's called Golden Time. What's different is that main characters are college law students. Good to see older characters for a change.

@Radeon

Sakurasou didnt dissapoint me but it left me wanting more. I know where you sticking points are. Who will Sorata pick since he has two great girl. Also Jin and misaki was resolve the way i wanted it. The teacher reconnected with her old friend the game creator. The teck guy found his match with the english girl. So those were solve and also this leaves it open for another season.

@Simon96

I agree Im glad for those anime because it changes the paces and opens your heart a bit more towards helping,loving and caring for others.

I really like the fact that animes like Toradora! or Sakurasaou or even something like Clannad, Angel Beats! and Air exist. They really make me want to continue watching anime (of course that doesn't mean that I don't like any other genres).

Toradora still holds the title as the "Best Rom Com" for me. I've watched Sakurasou...and...I'm disappointed with it.

@palmtopDragon

PalmtopDragon | Apr 4, 2013 7:26 PM
ToraDora is, BY FAR, one of the best shows I have EVER seen, and I have seen over 120 different ones.. It exceeded my expectations to what a romance anime could bring, and brought me to freagin tears when it ended... To freagin TEARS!!! How.. A show has to be FUCKING epic for it to bring a person to tears when it ends... ;( I just finished my 10th time watching it... It never gets old.. ;(

Jimbo_X | Jan 11, 2013 10:02 AM
Ya, its like they took a completely diff story and added the toradora spice to it.
