@AnimeMatt:1. Manga was still being serialized when the anime was made (ie. it was incomplete), and ended around the same time too. So material had to be original unless you wanted to wait 1 month between releases. As you know, turnover for animu is usually seasonal. 2. I recall the staff stating that they wanted to have a darker tone to the series. Hence all the LOL GRIMDARK in comparison to the manga, and more frequent religious references. 3. LOL, GONZO Despite being over with for a long time now, it still is one of my favorites. Be sure to check out World Embryo as it is Daisuke Moriyama's current project. It's a great read. |

I watched FMA in czech, japanese and english dub, but I think the japanese is the best... Hm... yop, there are anime, which aren't so good in japanese like in other languages. For example, I enjoyed Shaman King in czech more than in jp. |

Well I enjoy watching anime in Japanese (with english sub) but there are some out there that are better in english dub, Goldenboy, Full Metal Alchemist and Neon Genesis. |
