They had a Shoujo series just last season. A 2 cour one even! Akagami no Shirayukihime. I've watched the first cour and I enjoyed it for what it is, haven't brought myself to watch the rest of it yet. It has a great female protagonist, which is definitely one of the highlights of the show, but its rather slow in my opinion. But I still plan on checking the second half out.Bungou Stray Dogs has been pretty great, and with the introduction of some of the authors I'm more familiar with coming on the horizon, the second cour seems like it will be even better. But My Hero Academia is fantastic. I don't typically watch Shonen Jump properties, but I enjoy them when I do, and the series has been hitting all the right notes in almost every way. Too bad it is only 13 episodes because I have also heard how it gets even better from here. If its popular enough, and I'm thinking it will be, it might get a second season. I'm definitely crossing my fingers! I haven't had a chance to catch the second cour of Concrete Revolutio yet, but the first half was pretty great, although it did fluctuate a bit depending on the episode. But my overall opinion of it is quite positive. It's one of those kinds of shows where I want to be able to watch a bunch of it at once, and I have to be in the right mindset to do so, because it requires a very active mind in order to properly process all of it. So I'm holding out for a little bit longer to when I'll have more time to invest in it properly. Gosick is still one of my favorite BONES shows, I was finally able to import it from Australia after years of waiting for an American release, and I rewatched it again. It was still great, and I'm definitely glad I bought it. But I can see where you're coming from with your complaints. It didn't really bother me personally, but they are still valid. It's mostly about the characters and their interactions with the plot and mysteries taking a back seat. Especially since it kind of adopts the Japanese style of the mystery genre where the mystery itself isn't all that important, its the motivation and what it reveals about people and society. This is particularly noticeable in series like UN-GO which are entirely in the Japanese style, and that can definitely be a turn off for some. I've heard of some mysteries where the culprit will confess even where there is no evidence linking them to the crime, but the motivation is still what they consider important. The detective in the Japanese mystery genre is often considered to be a magnifying glass turned on society to expose their ills. I think this definitely occurs in Gosick, albeit not as much as in UN-GO but it is pretty jarring if you don't expect it. Which is why Japanese mystery anime rarely make a blip on the radar of people in the West. As for why BONES went darker near the end of the anime is because they adapted the end of the novels which came out right when the series was ending, in the same vein of Zetsuen no Tempest, Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, and Hitsugi no Chaika (to a lesser extent). I'm quite glad BONES does this because its so very frustrating for so many great anime to never have a conclusion. Almost every BONES anime I've seen has had a conclusion, even if they weren't all great ones, and I still appreciate the fact that it at least gets wrapped up. But then there's shows like Noragami where I enjoyed the first season but didn't really want a second season. But then the second season came out, and it was amazing, one of the best anime I've watched in quite a long time, but then it ends on a cliffhanger and its unlikely there will ever be a third season. I'm looking forward to both Mob Psycho 100, and Show By Rock 2, although I'm more interested in Show By Rock. But since the first season had such a conclusive ending, I don't exactly know how they will be able to make a second season properly. But I'm still looking forward to it all the same. I'm a bit more hesitant for Mob Psycho 100 simply because I don't like the art style. I just hope it's as good as One Punch Man before it took a huge nosedive and fell apart. The beginning was great, but then by the end it was pretty generic and boring. I just hope BONES tries another original series soon. They usually do a good job even if they don't often seem to know how write endings for them... |

It would've been great if Bones made shoujo anime again. It has been ten years since release of Ouran High School Host Club and it's my favorite shoujo anime in existence closely followed by Skip Beat. |

Well, they covered 1 chapter of manga in 2 episodes. I haven't read the manga but the word is good stuff starting to appear much later. Considering anime is only 13 episodes long I'm not sure we'll get to it until the middle of season 2, that is IF second season is planned. Just talking to myself. |

Any thoughts on My Hero Academia? I think it was a decent start, obviously not in the same league as One Punch Man, but interesting nonetheless. Minor gripes, simplistic character designs, animation could've been better, feels like a very classic shounen. |

So, I finally finished Gosick (dropped it back in 2011), and I think I just wasted 9 hours of my life. Anyway, the main storyline was preposterous, most of the cases were unimaginative and oftentimes writers gave away too much information for anyone who willing to put it together. I also don't understand why the hell Bones decided to go edgier in the last 2 or 3 episodes, the series, while tackled at more heavy subjects at times, was mostly light-hearted, and then they went full doom and gloom. |

I have no experience with FMP, but I know this will make a lot of people happy if it is the case. |
JizzyHitler | Nov 17, 2015 3:38 PM
This could just be clickbait, but according to this bones is gonna be the ones doing FMP season 4 with the director of eureka 7.http://yaraon-blog.com/archives/73433 gatoh(fmp creator) did say that its gonna be a tokyo studio with experience in 2D mechs, and well that kind of leaves only bones then cause sunrise and bones are the only 2 i can think of that still do 2d mechs |

My Hero Academia sounds cute! I look forward to that one. |

them getting boku is actually a pretty huge deal, its a pretty big success in shounen jump. |
cyclone1993 | Nov 2, 2015 8:56 PM
So BONES just announced another series. They are going to be animating Boku no Hero Academia. Which is a huge deal. Some people think it might become the next Naruto or something. Definitely a win for them, and their first time adapting a Shonen Jump property. (Although I'm still hoping they do a Rurouni Kenshin remake)So for next year it looks like we are getting a second cour of Concrete Revolutio (most likely), a second cour of Shirayukihime, Bungou Stray Dogs, and BnHA. They've already got a hugely packed year, with what will likely be some great shows. Should be interesting to see what they do with them! |

Try giving episode 3 a watch, i didnt care for the first episode and the 2nd episode while better i still didnt care for, but ep 3 was pretty good and has one of the best animated scenes bones has done in a long fucking time. |
Eka | Oct 12, 2015 7:54 PM
Unfortunately I'm dropping Concrete Revolutio for now. Really just didnt interest me, felt really slow. Unless I'm hearing a ton of praise for it, for now I'm leaving it. ^^; |
GlassShadow | Aug 23, 2015 1:18 PM
I don't know anything about the source material, but it seems right up Bones' alley to be honest lol. Well, I'm on. When will it be released though, the schedule is pretty packed. |

Well BONES newest anime was just announced and it sounds like it could be really interesting! I haven't read the manga but it sounds like something that could have some mainstream appeal.http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2015-08-20/bungo-stray-dogs-gets-anime-adaptation-at-studio-bones/.91913#gallery_top |
