No way, you have played the Classic Rainbow Six?

Oh yes LTL. I quite like that strange paint-firing weapon by FN Belgium. It used a Co2 bottle and a drum shaped magazine of staining ink/paint capsules. Really rather a clever idea. The old beanbag shot is simple enough; nothing like a hard punch in the gut to stop someone but keep them alive.

So that must be Ding Chavez? I've not read the books, but I used to love the old computer games, and he was always the best character.

Although, trying not to mention them too much, the mechanism used in gas blow back airsoft pistols is really rather clever. It never ceases to amaze me. I have a friend in Switzerland, so sometimes wonder if I could go on a shooting holiday, as I've heard of such things happening.

I tend not to associate with anyone who likes Naruro or Bleach, even Death Note if I'm being picky.

Anyway, what are you currently watching? After a few years out of the loop, I'm watching Genshiken and Haruhi with the animé society at my university, just a shame I'm only here for another 8 months as I've just made a great new group of friends.

Also, my nickname is from a novel written by Tom Clancy.

Karasawa, there's several ways to filter out mature people on MAL. My favorite one is to check their anime list and see if they have Naruto or Bleach. If that is the case, check their score. If it's anything higher than 6, then there's a great chance you don't want to communicate with that individual.

LTL means Less Than Lethal. Guns with smooth barrel made to fire plastic munitions, or grenade launchers modified to fire stun canisters, rubber batton, etc.

As for real guns, when you have been around them as much as me, safety precautions are applied automatically. It's something that grows into you.

OK, thank you Chavez for your reply. By the way, is that Chavez as in Hugo Chavez? He's a man I really admire.

Guns, the 'equaliser', the means to level the playing field of natural inequality, a way to uphold the rights of those not able to defend themselves unarmed, to protect freedoms.

I'm not familiar with LTL, if you could be so kind as to inform me. Shooting targets, while a perfectly harmless activity, can be does quite easily with non-lethal airguns, pellet guns etc. Adding a real gun into the mix can create unnecessary dangers. I love animals, so probably wouldn't hunt, except from an ecosystem stance, as sometimes the delecate balance of something like a nature reserve necessitates controlled culling.

The sociopath comment was uncalled for, don't think I'm always in this mood. But, this is MAL, and I don't excpect many people I meet on here to be mature or well-grounded. But that's just my natural suspicion of the animé scene I both love and loathe. On the one hand we have highly original works of art, and on the other, hordes of people cosplaying Naruto characters.

I am fascinated by the design of guns, which of course means vintage guns too, where things were progressive and revolutionary. It's harder to create something truely world altering in our time. But as an airosfter, I'm not the kind who does it for the emulation, the tactical elements etc. I like guns and the closest thing I can get to a safe environment to use gun-like objects (often very beautiful ones) is a field and a lot of white plastic ball bearings.

Also, I am wondering about your NO AIRSOFT thoughts! Guns in animé are usually realistic but most games are very unrealistic. So including games in this group brings it down to general gun fanboys who think the stupid 'guns' in Halo are "liek so kool!!!!!111"

The intention of the rules were to keep the club in a decent environment for those that are into guns. People that like guns also like to discuss guns of games and animes, but the main focus would still be guns and ammo in real life. Because I am the creator of this club, those 'fanboys' you described wouldn't be allowed in this club anyways.

Airsoft is a legitimate sport, a hobby, and is the realistic (in look and tactics) alternative to paintball.

The problem with airsoft is that this hobby is seen from an entirely different angle. Those guns are made to shoot on people. There's no sound, no recoil, and the impact isn't even near decent.

Your opinion on this indicates that you have been told narrow minded information. There's a lot of other things guns are utilized for. There's sports guns, flare guns, civilian hobby guns, hunting guns, novelty guns, LTL guns, training guns, and what more! I'm very interested in at least half of the ones I just mentioned. And to disprove your (somewhat disgusting) doubts, you can read my background story/biography in my profile.

Real guns are created to kill and injure people, that's not fun, unless you're the kind of pre-pubescent sociopathic kid I imagine you might be. No offence intended. Prove me wrong. Discuss some technical small arms information. I have an interest in the design and development of real firearms, but as a Brit, talking is all I can do on the matter. I apologise profusely for not being an American!

I want it to be realistic, i don't really find Airsoft realistic. Besides, everyone can join a local firing range, like i did. You need some documents to show you're clean (no record) and off you go. Netherlands is known as the most strict country when it comes to guns and ammo.

If you read more closer, you can see i do allow anime guns, since it's an anime website. I just don't like the old things, they are technically just wrong.. As for Sci-Fi... well just keep it real.

Garl. I join.

Isn't this a bit restrictive? What's wrong with sci-fi or vintage anime guns? And airsoft? For brits, it's about all we have.
