Dr OwenDr. Taylor's colleague and Rex's adoptive father. He discovers Rex as a baby in The American Museum of Natural History and adopts him. He sends Rex to live with the Taylor family to give him a more "normal" family environment, and meanwhile seeks a woman to marry so that he can give his adoptive son a mother. He develops a crush on Ursula. In the second season, he also stays in the present with Reece, Laura, and Rod.
