SakichiSakichi was Tatsuo's aniki (superior) and the second-in-command within the Shoten Gang, and the two often did jobs together and were lovers. When the boss ordered him to get rid of Tatsuo, who was considering leaving the life of an assassin behind, Sakichi inflicted the wound on Tatsuo's neck and abandoned him in the woods, hoping that the boss would think he was dead.When the two run into each other again, Sakichi asks Tatsuo to help him kill their boss, but Tatsuo refuses. Yuki stabs him after Sakichi offers to get rid of Matsu, and brings his still-living body to Matsu. Instead of using his corpse for medicine, Matsu fixes him up, claiming that Sakichi will never hurt him as long as he has to repay this debt. He eventually takes control of the Shoten Gang on his own, after exposing the previous boss for selling out the members of the group to the law enforcement of Edo. Yet, with his goal achieved, Sakichi still regrets not having Tatsuo by his side anymore. In the future, it is hinted that he is happy alongside Roku.
