She is the landlady of the Inn of Lost Things, helping visitors in their search. Although seemingly cold and blunt, she cares deeply about the guests that visit the Inn.
It is later revealed that the Inn serves as a place for lost souls looking for peace of mind after death before moving on. Its workers are lost souls who have yet to find rest, and Okami-san has been there for a long time due to losing all memories of her life and therefore being unable to remember what she has lost.
Her real identity is Saki Terashima, a university student who worked part-time as a kindergarten teacher. Shortly before her death, Saki was reunited with Atsushi, a boy who grew up at the same orphanage as her and looked after her, and the two entered a romantic relationship. Upon her death, Saki found herself at the Inn and, desperate with grief and guilt, pleaded with Bantou-san to erase all memories of her life. The next day, she woke up in a childlike form, and took on the role of landlady.
