Anime Relations: Samurai Flamenco
After 4354578873405 days without writing, I just had to take out my thoughts on Samurai Flamenco--- not that it's that bad, or is it good, I'm just actually quite confused.

When I started watching the series, I initially thought it was one of those light, somewhat hilarious kind of anime that I would normally resort to whenever I was bored. I found it pretty amusing, actually. However, when the King Torture arc started, I couldn't accept it. Not that I didn't want the anime to get a serious story, but I felt its incoherence with with the initial episodes.

At the beginning, normally, people just laugh off these hallucinating superheroes into their attempts to take justice into their hands, as Gotou-san would stop Masayoshi from acting like a weirdo. The next few episodes built on Masayoshi's character, heroism, and physical strength. Up to this point, my mind can handle it.

When the drug-induced Ape was introduced, I got really confused. How was the story going to that direction? Is it possible that, like Masayoshi, there were more weirdos who were not able to outgrow their childish hallucinations and were actually taking it out to reality-- transforming humans to suicidal robots and chainsawing their own hand? What's more-- people have accepted these superheroes and their enemies, like they were egg and bacon for breakfast. Evil and justice had evolved.

Samumenco has outdone my expectations way beyond the boundary. I really want to drop this anime but I couldn't because I just want to know how it ends.

December 23rd, 2010

i was browsing through my account when i realized that i had reached my 100th manga! and i was so happy it happened to be La Esperanca (7 volumes/ 26 chapters).

it took me about two months downloading it, having delayed for several reasons. and it took me about five months to read it, because it was difficult inserting it among academic battles and whatnot. And i noticed that my 99th manga was il gatto sul G (3 volumes/ 13 chapters)!

wow. this must be destiny! you see, those two happened to have the same genre (shounen-ai) and both stories were so moving and heart-touching! i liked il gatto better than LE but both are really a good read, not unless you hate reading long chapters.

this will be the first time writing a blog entry here in MAL. i've written so many things online already, academically or otherwise, yet i guess i have not gotten over my pre-writing difficulties. now, what to write about?

today is the 24th of December. And as of late, i have been struggling through my academics since exams are awaiting to devour me when classes resume on january. but before exams, there's a 5-minute-long group report that until now i have not planned yet. seems simple, but it actually isn't when most of your groupmates are goofing around christmas. i forgive, it IS christmas anyway.

i recently joined aarinfantasy... never mind.

my book is looming beside me as if beckoning to be read. in fact, i have spent approximately 5 hours this morning working on the long word problems on optimization! And now my onee-chan's gone home. =__= ugh. this is going to be some christmas...

anyway, everyone, have a merry christmas!
