Upon seeing Code Geass
Anime Relations: Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch, Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch R2
Warning this may contain spoilers, I will try not to give away too much story if you haven't seen the anime yet, but you have been warned. In the immortal words of the old man in Gremlins "With mogwai comes great responsiblity." I can think of a lot better quotes to represent the main theme of Code Geass, but I like using this one because it is a bit obscure. The fact that Geass puts a massive amount of responsiblity on Lelouch much like owning the mogwai Gizmo puts all the responsiblity on Billy for the havoc the gremlins wreak. Lelouch's Geass gives him the power to control others but his deeds cannot go unpunished, and even though his deeds have actually been for the benefit of the people he will never be seen as the hero that he truly is. I feel for Lelouch, that he will forever be alone in solitude but in his heart know that his actions have created a better world. How hard would it be to be the savior of the world but not be given the credit, have the world betray you and let someone else become the savior in order to complete your evolution of the world.

Late Update on Higurashi no Naku Koro ni
Anime Relations: Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai
So I had an earlier blog entry after I watched the first 6 episodes (with which I was every impressed), now I have had time to complete both seasons and also had time for everything to settle in. Like with "N&T,H&T" which I just wrote a blog entry about I found that I couldn't stop watching Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. I had to force myself to stop and go to sleep if only to give myself enough energy to continue watching. This anime takes you for a real ride as pieces of the puzzle begin to come together near the end of the first season. In the beginning I felt myself thinking "this is totally skrewed up," but that sense of having no idea what on earth was going on made me want to keep watching, and then as the pieces fell into place I had to keep watching to see the finale. It was a bit like putting together a jigsaw puzzle, you start out with some pieces and slowly find the pieces that connect until you create a picture, and like a jigsaw puzzle you don't want to stop until you've made the picture for yourself. I found myself coming up with my own theories of what was happening trying to force pieces that almost fit together until I was provided with the missing piece that linked the rest into an ellaborate scene. one of the great things about this anime was it's balance of comedy and suspence, I was kept on the edge of my seat pretty much the entire time and yet found myself smiling and laughing as well. In some anime similar to this I think that the comedy side seems forced and out of place but I felt that in Higurashi no Naku Koro ni it contributed to the complexity and reality of the story. I warn you part of this anime are not for the faint of heart. I have seen some compare it to Elfen Lied saying if you enjoyed Elfen Lied you'll like this, but this anime though not as superficially violent and bloody as Elfen Lied had scenes more savage and bone chilling than any other anime I have seen to date (I must emphasize the I in that statement for I know that there is probably plenty of anime that is more bone chilling that I have never heard of much less seen). I believe that it is time for this blog entry to come to a close and to anyone who may actually read this keep on reading.

Now and Then, Here and There
Anime Relations: Ima, Soko ni Iru Boku, Elfen Lied, Mugen no Ryvius, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai
Every now and then (funny how I worked part of the title right in there) as I sift through anime watching hour after hour I come across something that I just can't stop watching. I can't wait to put in the next disc and see what happens and I can't wait to find out how it ends. As of 2:07 a.m. PST Jan. 10 I completed "Now & Then, Here & There," I started the anime Jan. 9 around 7:00 p.m. or so I believe. When I put the first disc into my computer I expected a desent anime perhaps even a good one, what I got was one of those special anime that drags you in and doesn't let go. The deeper into the story I went the better and better it got, I found myself sharing emotions with the characters like I was part of their world. Perhaps it is only the fact that I am still on the high of being a part of this fantasy world for several hours now but I feel that somehow this anime spoke volumes about humanity, it hit a very powerful chord that I think is rare in an anime. I enjoy anime for its ablity to distract me from my mundane everyday life but this anime seemed to give a deeper meaning and alter my view of the world. Out of the anime I have under my belt I can think of three others that have left me in a state of euphoria after completing. They include: Elfen Lied, Infinite Ryvius, and Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (when I say Higurashi no Naku Koro ni I am including both seasons). I rate "Now and Then, Here and There" a must see for any fan of anime and even those who are not huge fans. There are so many lessons that one can take from an anime like this about life, war, and the world. Let me reiterate perhaps it is the high of just completing the anime talk, and it seems I have gone on quite long enough perhaps tomorrow I can shed a new light on my words here and after sleeping on all I have taken in give a better analysis of this series. Until next time, keep on reading.

Anime Relations: Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai
Okay so I started watching this anime and I'm only onto episode 6 and I already love it I almost pissed my self I got so freaked out (I scare easily when I'm sitting alone in my house at night). I really don't understand what's going on but I still love the show. I'm hoping more will be explained as I go through more of it.
