Anime Relations: A-Channel

WORK IN PROGRESS - I've seen enough anime to the point where this will take a long time to make. I will likely talk about every TV series I've seen, but I will skip a lot of the specials and spinoffs, since most of them are forgettable, and i don't even rate those anyway (but I may do a few of the ones which I found memorable in one way or another).

If you have read this far then you may ask, why not make reviews instead of posting on this blog where virtually no one will see or read it? There is a simple, yet huge reason for this. Reviews require you to be more objective and open minded. What you say has to make sense to other people reading it, and they should be able to relate to what you said, be it that they agree or disagree. But I am one of the most subjective-minded people out there - I judge things completely based on what I like and dislike, what makes me enjoy it and what makes it piss me off. You might think, doesn't everybody do this? No. Well, so some degree, yes. but not completely. I don't judge based off of your typical stereotypes of what is considered good and what is not. Here is an extreme example of this: I enjoyed SAO more than Monster. Now, does this mean I think SAO is better than Monster? Of course not. From an objective point of view, I can clearly see that Monster is tidal waves better in writing, story, characterization, maturity, etc. But SUBJECTIVELY, I enjoyed SAO more than Monster because it does more things which I like and care about in anime, compared to Monster, which did many things I am not a fan of. This practically sums up why I will never write reviews - I judge things based on what I care about, not on what is generally considered good or not good, and I don't think this will ever change.

Watch style: I watched 1-2 episodes every day, sometimes I watched a few episodes in the morning then a few more later that day.

Feelings while watching it: The first time around I hated it, but I enjoyed it so much more when I picked it up a year later (for reasons I will explain later).

After effects: There were no after effects when I finished it. It was an enjoyable series, but I did not miss it when it ended.

How I discovered it/decided to watch it: On a PTW list on one of my different accounts, I decide to watch the first 4 anime that appeared on the list alphabetically, and it was there.

Special notes about the series:
-Most maturely-handeled trapped in a game anime there is
-dialogue-heavy
-extremely slow paced
-very good music
-main character takes some getting used to. He can be extremely unlikable at times, but grows throughout the series
-recommended for nights, or times when you just want to relax. NOT RECOMMENDED for people who are impatient, closed-minded, action-hungry, or new to anime
