I've been on this binge of watching every series the Japanese production company Shaft Inc. have created after stumbling upon the anime series Bakemonogatari. As of now I've watched the seasons of Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei, and Arakawa Under The Bridge. I think Bakemonogatari takes the cake from what I've seen so far by means of the character's epic use of verbal references and well leveled yet extremely gruesome scenes of violence, though Arakawa outdoes it in the gag department.

I did enjoy Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei, but not as much as the others. It was different, but I just couldn't find the characters to be as engaging as the others I've found to be. That's just my own opinion though.

The unique way these animes are drawn has me fully engaged in them, I mean the dialogue pulls you in so well you have to slow it down just to fully absorb the complexities of what the characters are saying.
If you couldn't guess, from a production company standpoint I would place Studio Ghibli and Shaft in my top 2 companies to keep tabs on everything they are doing.

Really I'm anxious for them to finish the second season of Bakemonogatari, current in production. But for now I have the second season to Arakawa yet to watch, which I'm looking forward to with much enthusiasm. Especially the character P-ko, her voice is just full of awesome! <3 <3 ^_^ I may have to chase down more animes with Omigawa, Chiaki I'm thinking...
