And this Fall Season is coming to a close...

I have to say this Fall Season had a fairly amount of series that debuted (especially the 2 cour shows). Of course, there were surprises but also disappointments as well. Imo, the last Fall season (2012) was better than this but there were also some shows that made some memorable moments. Now let's gets this started:

The Impressive (8-10):

Kill la Kill: Trigger strikes and in an impressive way. I knew this should had potential with its TTGL vibes originally but it indeed lived up to the hype with its explosive energy. It took me some time to get used to the art style but the show itself made impact for me. As far the characters, I just loved its presentation and setting. The story itself may seem absurd on occasions but overall fairly strike me well as one of the most impressive titles of Fall Season.

Golden Time: This imo is a fairly impressive anime despite its cheesy/weak start from the beginning. I have been following both the manga and LN of Golden Time as well. Although it omits some scenes, the anime itself still portrays the characters quite realistically in a more mature environment (college as opposed to HS). The drama is fairly entertaining and the characters have a charm in them. This is no doubt in my mind a top contender for best romantic comedy of the year.

Nagi no Asukara: The first half is over! Phew, that took awhile but this has been a fairly emotional ride. I'm still not sure who I want to end up with but it has that fantasy element with heart-breathing visuals thanks to P.A. Works. The latest episode 13 that concluded the first half had some huge moments that will be memorable. Where is Manaka?! :(

Log Horizon: No, this is NOT Sword Art Online. Seriously, the two series barely has any similarity with each other besides the setting/premise. Log Horizon seems slow paced but the characters all have their charms along with its themes. The mechanics are explained well and I think the author really knows what he is doing as well based on the LN I have been reading. Great set up for a series and I have great hope for what's to come in the latter 12 episodes.

Little Buster Refrain: There are some controversy related to the adaptation of this show but I decided to put Refrain into the impressive category with its memorable start involving Kurugaya. Not only that but the boys really get a spotlight such as Kyousuke as opposed to season 1. The series itself also gets darker with the concept involving Secret of the World. Along with all the theories and overall structure set up, Refrain made it to this category. Now the wait for EX begins....

White Album 2: A major surprise of the season. I wasn't expecting much originally. I didn't like the original White Album series but this show is just so refreshing and realistic to watch. Its small cast of characters and drama is contagious to watch along with the romance between them. Artwork could work a bit but the music makes it up with its fantastical OST and soundtrack. Highly recommended.

Gingitsune: Another surprise of the season. This is one of my personal favorites with its slice of life atmosphere and characters. Now, I'm not a big fan of shows that goes like this but the characters and mood is just so charming. It also reminds me of Natsume's Book of Friends, another show that I fairly enjoyed. Season 2 when?!

Gundam Build Fighters: Another surprise of the season. I disliked Gundam Age with a passion and the other mecha show Valvrave had its problems. However, this show is refreshing with its concept and colorful cast of characters. The action and direction of this series is very entertaining on various levels and I look forward to watching this every week.

Kyousougiga: Finally, this got an anime adaptation, a full series at long last. Ah, this show is just so unique in every sense with its themes and allusions. The characters themselves are wonderfully presented in a story that elaborates itself with flashbacks, interactions, and parallelisms. The direction of its story also is quite entertaining along with the unique art and energy poured in to make Kyousougiga one of my favorites from the Fall lineup.

Hajime no Ippo - Rising: Well, what can I say? I got into the Hajime franchise and now I'm addicted. Great start so far for the season. Shame 2 episodes have been delayed though....

Kuroko no Basket 2: Some parts feels a bit dragged but I loved the overall intensity of this show still. There's no doubt that the Generation of Miracles is still alive and doing well. When this show returns next year, Akashi is making his debut as well (based on the PV).

Magi: The Kingdom of Magic: I don't have much to comment on this since the show shifts between itself sometimes between great, decent, lackluster. However, the adaptation has its charm with moments that are memorable from the manga. Most of the characters also get their spotlights although some of the earlier arcs felt a bit lack in interest. It's heading into a direction that I like though.

The Decent(6-7):

Strike the Blood: It's quite generic but for some reason, I'm putting this show into the category. The mc isn't a wimp, the characters are diverse, the action is decent, and the artwork is fluid. There is more violence than I had thought but Strike the Blood delivers itself the way it is advertised. It's just a bit generic and hard to divert from that category.

Unbreakable Machine Doll: Tbh, this is barely just decent. The characters have little personalities especially Yaya. The story itself also has problems with pacing and the conclusion felt rushed. However, the comedy itself is glorious and action is tolerable. It could do without the annoying fan service sometimes though. Some mechanics of its world also needs elaboration.

Yowamushi Pedal: Reminds me of Overdrive. The only reason I put this show here for now is because I am unsure what direction it will head into. The first arc (if it can be called that) also felt a bit odd paced that seems to have dragged out itself a bit. Oh well, at least the moments it did leave made sense with its colorful cast of characters. The story itself also is fun with the concept of cycling and competitions. The main protagonist Sakamichi gets on my nerves though.

Outbreak Company: A surprise of the season. Not only did it remind me of Gate JSDF but it also possesses great comedy with humor that actually made me laugh on various occasions. Some of the characters took me quite awhile to get used to but the overall set up is great. The finale was alright I guess but on most parts, this show is tolerable and I look forward to a second season. Oh and dat references is everywhere in this show.

Ace of Diamond: I wasn't a big fan of this show or for baseball but I guess it has its moments with the cast. Eijun is one of those guys I cheer for because of his hard working personality but at the same time I find annoying on occasions. As a sports series, the competition gets its point across but sometimes seems to try way too hard. The repetitiveness is also starting to kick in now..

Phi Brain 3: Surprise of the season for me. I wasn't a fan of the first season, liked season 2, but the third season fairly gave me some good impressions with its new characters. The puzzles are also quite diverse and leaves memorable moments. I also liked the fact that supporting characters continues to get their own moments besides just Kaito. Dat Op song is pretty enjoyable to the ears as well.

Yozakura Quartet: Hana no Uta: The story feels like a mess and some of the characters takes a fair a bit of time to get accustomed to. It's not a masterpiece but definitely can be appreciated with its diverse cast of characters and overall setting. Hime is also a character that I quite enjoy watching throughout each episode!

Arpeggio of Blue Steel: Ars Nova: Some people disliked this show but as a fan of the manga, I appreciate it with its characters. The major problem I did have with this is its how it diverged itself from the manga story on a few occasions as well as its anime original ending. On the other hand, the action is spectacular along with the OST. Oh and Takao <3333

Non Non Biyori: A natural slice of life series at its finest although its lack of story makes it sometimes a bore to watch. Still, its cast of characters are so charming and Renge is literally the mascot. 'Good Meowing!'

Bad/Mediocre(4-5):

Tokyo Ravens: I don't hate the show but the story itself is not just generic but also lacks interest. A few of the characters also lacks personalities and the plot itself is also fairly predictable. I'm not fond of the mc either or its odd usage of the CGI. The action is okay I guess on most parts but the story itself can work on a bit. Suzuka is best girl though.

Coppelion: What the hell? The series is just asinine on many levels with its characters. I never thought I'd say this but Aoi might be the first character that I hated that is voiced by Kana Hanazawa. The manga itself has some moments but the anime decided to butcher them with its pacing. Oh well, at least Angela did OP + ED songs and some of the visuals saved it from total destruction.

Kyoukai no Kanata: If the story itself is good as the visuals, I'd have no problem with this show. But no it didn't and the story itself has way too many parts that dragged out. It did manage to explain some aspects but the ending completely killed it. The characters in this series also lacks personalities and I didn't like their interactions at all. Dat episode 6 though.

Freezing Vibration: Failed pacing and story with a bunch of characters all wrapped up in a predictable plot. Sigh. The notorious Siblings Arc also left a bad taste in my mouth and the fan service was everywhere. Oh well, at least the music and setting made sense. There was no characterization though or any development besides maybe Satellizer on some vague aspects.

Yuusha ni Narenakatta: I'm not sure why many people liked this. The fan service and generic characters were everywhere. Fino is also quite annoying with her absentmindedness despite begin cute. I think the plot started to pick itself up near the end but it just felt overall rushed. The slice of life mood maintains its posture well though but the romance felt dense and made little sense.

Blaz Blue Alter Memory: God damn, this show not just sucks but it it also made little sense. I barely understood what "Blaz Blue" was or some of its characters. There was a massive info dump for god knows what reasons. The action had some moments but the series did not. Its moments were presented terribly and left me disappointed. Ragna the Bloodedge also has almost not personality and his interaction with Noel makes no sense.

Kakumeiki Valvrave 2: Lol @ the ending and in general the series itself. I knew what I was prepared for because of season 1 but I wasn't ready for that ending or some of the odd plot holes. Even as a mecha fan, I didn't enjoy this as much as I had hoped compared to the first season. On another note, I'm glad Akira got more spotlights than she did. The violence was just everywhere though.

Samurai Flamenco: I honestly have no idea why the show went into a direction of Sentai and Power Rangers parody. The first 6 or so episode left me with great impressions and I had expectations. However, it ventured into the supernatural realm and that's where it fell apart. This is one of Noitamina's failures imo this Fall season and the other is....

Galilei Donna: It's not the plot that bothered me but the presentation. The characters made little sense and most of them lacked personalities. There is also some inconsistency and the finale really felt like the producers just wanted the series to wrap itself together. Overall, I do not recommend watching this unless you're a big fan of Noitamina and wants to see how it was directed.

Teekyu 3: Same thoughts as I had from the previous seasons.

Terribad(1-3):

Diabolik Lovers: Oh God...

Infinite Stratos 2: 80% fan service 90% fan service and 10% plot. Terrible adaptation. I thought season 1 was just mediocre but season 2 is just bad. I would avoid this show unless you want to see how it was adapted from the LN. In most cases, I'd recommend just skimming through this shit like it didn't even exist.

Sekai de Ichiban Tsuyoku Naritai!: LOL. Dat screaming. I thought the current WWE is bad but this show is terribad. I just watched it for the lulz and occasionally liked some of the wrestling moves used like the ankle lock and pile drivers.

Walkure Romanze: terrible plot, characters have almost no personalities, fillerish episodes, and overall a predictable ending. I wasn't expecting much from this show anyways in the first place.

Noucome: Generic to the G. Thank God this is only 10 episodes.

Meganebu: DROPPED. I literally fell asleep watching this.

Koroshiya-san: The Hired Gun: Too short and unfunny. I recommend skipping this unless you want it on your list for completionist reasons.

**************Not on list includes**********
Ongoing shows that have been running for ages such as Hunter x Hunter, Naruto Shippuden, Cardfight Vanguard, etc.
Pupa (never aired)
Series I did not watch including Pokemon XY, Tesagure! Bukatsumono, etc

*************Overall thoughts**************
I didn't take an overall average of all the shows from this ongoing season. However, the previous Fall season is better imo although this season surpassed the shit season that is of Winter. There were surprises and disappointments. There were impressions and failures. There were good and bad memories. As far this season as a whole, there were also more 2 cour shows than I had thought that will carry themselves into the next Winter season. Speaking of which, the upcoming Winter season looks packed! Not just in terms of series but diversity as well. I can't wait to see how it fares out with shows like Space Dandy, Chuu2, etc. It should be fun.
