Anime Relations: Shinseiki Evangelion
So I've been basically MIA for the last several months now. I suppose a little explanation is necessary.

I've been distancing myself from this site ever since late April. I've had a ton of plans in regards to anime that just went away after that month because my mind had just completely shattered thanks to a severe bout of anxiety and depression thanks to my school life. I won't get into the nitty gritty details of everything but basically, a combination of self-disappointment with leadership (both positions and no positions), "self-evaluations" (and by that I mean pitting myself against my peers), and upcoming end-of-year testing had me disappointed in myself for several months. It was around mid-July when I felt like I had recovered enough to give this site another go. And even that failed.

Summer was busy. I had an internship, I had a three-week long summer camp immediately afterwards, I had another school-related camp after that. All that took up around 60-80% of my summer. The first camp in particular had an interesting story that may have affected my view towards anime further. One fateful evening, I decided to go take a shower. My roommate thought it was a fantastic idea to bring a bunch of people over to marathon the seasons 1-6 recap of Game of Thrones. An hour long compilation. That I couldn't access my room because of. And they would've probably pulled an all nighter had I not called over an RA to get them out during bedtime. I was beyond pissed when I entered the room and went to sleep. I also felt a sense of FOMO (you can see where this is going). I decided to marathon GoT in order to prevent another one of those instances from popping up again, further lengthening my time away from this site. And then Junior Year became a thing. And I was completely unprepared for the workload it brought.

Basically, my last six months have been complete hell. And I took my awful feelings out on MAL for some reason. Every time I promised I would come back something would always get in the way. And I'm kinda getting sick of it. I highly doubt some of you trust my words at this point so I won't make any dates anymore. Except one.

I am proud to announce that I will start a complete marathon of Neon Genesis Evangelion and everything related to it sometime before the end of 2017. I feel that Eva is a series that is the perfect summation of my entire life for the past several months. I want to see what this series means to people. I want to see how similar people are to each other. I want to be able to show that I am ready again. And if I don't do this, consider me dead for good. See you when I get that chance.

January 1st, 2017
I'm a bit late into this party, but I might as well create some kind of countdown. Also, I'm not adding any photos, because I just want to get this over with.

#5. Ao no Exorcist
Blue Exorcist isn't really a bad show per sé as it is a rather boring one. Rin is a complete douche that makes me get angry whenever I see an episode, and everything else from the story, the other characters, and the production values just.... isn't good enough to save the series. I've heard that this also devolved into a filler-based shonen in the second half; I wouldn't know, as I dropped this after 5 episodes.

#4: Brotherhood: Final Fantasy XV
I literally just saw this out of pure curiosity after seeing Digibro and co. tear this to shreds during the Weebcast for Spring 2016 shows. What I saw was godawful animation, a ton of boring characters, and as I would later find out in episode 2, a very disjointed story. Episode 2 was so uninteresting that I actually skimmed the episode to see if something would happen before deciding to drop it then.

#3: Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu
Oh, Re:Zero. How you fooled us all into thinking you were a true deconstruction of the fantasy LN when you were really just a plothole-filled, stupid, boring, symbolism-shoving series that had no idea what "respecting the audience" was. I just don't understand why anyone would like this. Also, Subaru is one of the most poorly designed protagonists I've ever seen.

#2: Guilty Crown
I'm just pondering to myself how anyone can go through the script of this show and say "That's perfect!" Between ripping off Eva and Code Geass, creating the most laughable evil organization I've seen so far, making sure that there are plot holes left and right, and making Shu Ouma an unlikeable "Sit in the corner" protagonist, Guilty Crown is trash. The only reason why it's not #1 is that the direction, and audio-visuals were very good, unlike.....

#1: Chaos;Head
There is nothing good about this series. Trash story, trash harem, and visuals/animation that suck, considering that this was from Madhouse. Also, message to Takumi: Acknowledging that your series is weird and confusing doesn't stop said series from being weird and confusing. I need to play the visual novel to see if this was just bad adaptation, or if the visual novel sucks too. Screw this series, and screw Chaos;Child.

I can't think of a better closing quote than "To a great 2017!" So, let's hope that I won't have to enlarge this list to a top 15 next year.
