Between Blood and Betrayal
First Blood: Blood Lust
Northern Italy, Dolphenora Family Manor
Red liquid trickled upon her porcelain pale skin as she jumped away from the crowds; trident held tightly around her slender cold fingers. Spun on her hills; the girl pushed her trident forward until the sharp metal passed through the enemy's body. Her only one violet eye with a shade of dark blue explored the room expressionlessly; stabbing every enemy who stood in her way with the bloody trident. Her black clothes were now dirty with blood stains from her enemy, as well as her trident and the black boots. Irritated even further, Chrome landed smoothly on the used to be brown carpet and straightened up, waiting.
Her enemies surrounded her a few meters away; guns on their hands. Sighing, Chrome swung the trident on her grip and ran forward. Bullets started hunting her down from the countless guns as Chrome sliced the head of the nearest guy she could reach, kicked down another guy with her black boots and hidden knives underneath the long sleeves. She growled as one of the bullets managed to hit her hair tie; made her hair fall down on her shoulder and covered her sight. Bent down, she brushed the long soft purple hair away from her shoulder and face. She looked up to see another guy with a long sword, eyes covered with angered as he swung his sword upon her. Eyes widened in fear, Chrome gasped and held her breath, waiting until her last moment.
Nothing came.
"Flashy." A cold, plain comment hit the tense atmosphere like a baseball bat hit a metal in the silent night. Relaxed ever so slightly, Chrome let out a soft sigh as she turned around to face her companion. Half of his dark black hair hidden beneath the thin warm hat, the small rectangle-shaped glasses made his dark, silver blue eyes glow under the light; his expression, passive and bored as usual. How typical of him. He hasn't changed as much as she does in ten years.
"Chikusa." She greeted silently; watching his movements blankly. Chikusa pulled the poisonous yo-yo back with the thin strings and walked toward the body. He observed the body in silent; watching as blood trickled down from his chest, the place where he just attacked him, down to the black tuxedo. He leaned back and looked at her directly in the eye, a hint of amusement grace his feature ever so slightly.
"He won't be pleased by this." He spoke with his usual bored-plain voice. Eye widened in realization, Chrome parted her pale lips slightly in protest, but closed it again. There's no point in arguing with Chikusa. She knew that her boss won't be pleased by her, killing these worthless Mafioso. His order was simply to defeat them, not killing them in an instant. She didn't even use her illusion to kill them.
It's not like they deserved to be killed by her illusion, anyway.
"We should get going." Snapped back to reality, Chrome looked at Chikusa, who was walking toward the mahogany door. Glanced at the piles of bodies one last time, Chrome followed Chikusa closely behind. The purple haired female started fixing her clothes, though it was pointless now that it stained with blood. Growling slightly, Chrome took off her clothes, revealing a slim body covered with nothing but white thin vest and black bra. She stopped and looked around, searching for clothes that didn't have blood on it.
"You can use this." Chrome tilted her head toward the glasses male as a pair of clothes flew toward her. She caught them before it could fall on the ground and quickly changed in front of the older male. After she was done, Chrome skipped toward him, who seemed to pay no mind at her well-being.
"Where to?" her voice rang in his ear like a lullaby. He didn't look at her, of course. He just walked toward the door lazily that she thought he ignored her question.
"Anywhere." His simple answer made her frown slightly; but she dismissed it and walked along with the male. Black gloved-hand reached the metal door knob, twisted it around and pushed the door opened. Cold wind blew sharply into the manor filled with dead bodies as both Chrome and Chikusa walked away toward the snowy field.
Chrome shivered at the cold temperature. She bit her bottom lip hard and hugged herself automatically. An irritated expression graced her feature as she, with a lot of effort, stomped her feet on the white thick snow that completely covered the ground. Her black boots sank in a quick pace every time she tried to move, which made the female growled in frustration silently. The purple haired female turned her head toward her companion; who walked a few meters away from her. How did he manage to get that far was a complete mystery.
"Will you sympathize with me, Chikusa?" she pleaded helplessly. The male turned his attention to the Mist Guardian and stared at her slim features. Ten years had passed since he lived with Chrome, and every thing changed. She had become more powerful, not in a good way, but not in a bad way either. Unlike Hibari Kyoya, who was strong enough to kill all the enemies, but never actually kill them, Chrome never let her enemies alive. She was creepier than the Cloud Guardian, but not stronger. Chikusa tilted his head a little and opened his sling bag; searching.
"Here." Long thick scarf with azure colour flew in the mid air toward her direction. Chrome jumped awkwardly and caught the scarf, wore it around her thin neck firmly and sighed. Chikusa just stared at her blankly, and then walked away.
"If we don't hurry, we'll be working late again today... what a pain..." Chrome started to run toward her companion and listened to his complaints. Though he was the type who rarely spoke and never shown his emotions openly, Chikusa was pretty sharp and could be very sarcastic sometimes. Once he spoke; the words that slipped past his tongue was complains, but he always finished his job fast and clean. He was the type who would never hold back his lust for blood when he entered the battle field. That was the real Chikusa Kakkimoto.
One hour had passed since they escaped from the manor. Both Chrome and Chikusa didn't speak any word to each other; just enjoying the comfortable silence between them. The only sound that could be heard was the raging snow and the sharp wind, but none of them paid any mind. Chikusa pulled the grey scarves around his neck higher until it covered his mouth and stopped. Confused, Chrome looked up questioningly at him.
"We're here." Chikusa said in cold icy tone that sent shiver down her spine. No matter how cold it is, Chikusa's voice had always been colder. She looked around; searching for another manor or secret base they had been searching for. It was a pain, really. To walk around and killing enemies one by one when it was winter. Chrome pouted slightly beneath her scarf, annoyed that there's nothing in sight. But Chikusa was Chikusa, and he would never lie to her.
"I don't see anything." Chrome muttered softly, though there was hint of irritated in her voice.
"Don't see. Feel it." He replied. Chrome let out another sigh and closed her eye; concentrating. Of course, he was right. He had always been right. One kilometer away from them, stood the secret base of the Felmore family, covered in a high class illusion. The building was not tall, but wide. The roof was made of a very thick metal, and the walls were even thicker. There was only one door, the front door, and there was no window in sight.
Completely isolated... she thought bitterly. Straightened up, Chrome pulled the trident in front of her chest as thick mist began to surround her. Chikusa waited patiently until she was done while preparing his own equipment; two poisonous yo-yo, a pack of small poisonous, and rain attribute rings and boxes. He slipped some silver knives underneath the long green Kokuyo uniform sleeves and looked at his companion...
Who appeared to be Joshima Ken instead of Chrome Dokuro.
"Are you ready?" Chikusa asked passively. The blonde looked at him from the corner of his eye; lips curved into a smirk as he straightened his back and put his hand on his waists. Chikusa didn't say anything, but he let out a sigh in frustration.
"Didn't I tell you to be more animal-like?" Chikusa lowered his head and rubbed his temple. 'The' Ken Joshima blinked in surprise and tilted his head, confused.
"I think I'm more animal-like..." he spoke up, confused. The male lifted his glasses up a bit and stared at him. True, that his appearance looked so animal-like. Not to mention the fangs and scratches on his cheek, but his attitude was too... elegant to be Ken Joshima.
"No, you look like a sadist." Chikusa replied coldly, which made 'Ken' stepped back a little. Biting at his lower lip, Ken sighed heavily and closed his eyes. The temperature became colder and colder every minutes. Chikusa became impatient and stared at the still concentrating 'Ken'. Before he could started complaining about how long it is for him to act, 'Ken' opened his eyes and a wide, wild grin surfaced on his face. His face became wilder than the previous one. He stuck out his tongue and bent a little, opened his legs wider and looked at Chikusa.
"Let's go, Kakkipi!" Ken shouted loudly at the glasses male; who was waiting all along. Chikusa watched as indigo flames surrounded him, making him more 'real' than just a mere illusion.
"Now that's more like it, Chrome." Chikusa commented as he and 'Ken' walked toward the isolated secret base; weapons completely covered with illusions.

Namimori, Vongola Secret Base: Sky Area
The smell of omelet filled the kitchen as a tall brunette with brown eyes flipped the egg with the frying pan. A soft smiled plastered on his face, a white apron covered half of his black-long-sleeves T-shirt and ¼ of his long white trouser. The brunette stretched out his hand toward a salt and poured it on the frying pan like a professional. His smile widened slightly as he realized that it was safe enough for him to put the egg on a plate. Tsuna turned off the fire and flipped the egg once again; taking the nearest plate in high speed and smiled in satisfaction as the omelet fell smoothly on the plate.
"I'm able to make an omelet, finally!" Tsuna cheered to himself, quite happily. Pulling a wooden chair near the table, the brunette sat down and put the plate on the table. Brown eyes explored the kitchen; searching. The smile on his face widened again as he spotted a pair of spoon and fork on top of a white fridge a few meters away from the door. He got up on his feet and walked toward the fridge with the same smile. Stretched out his hand, the brunette took the spoon and fork from on top of the fridge and walked back to his chair.
Just before he could taste his home-made omelet, someone interrupted him.
"Tenth. Hibari is here." Gokudera came inside the kitchen calmly. His usual red shirt with black tuxedo and tie were not here today. He was wearing something more casual; something that more like him. Just like Tsuna, who appeared to wear a plain black shirt and white trouser, the guardians were extremely calm these days. A sigh escaped Tsuna's lips as he put the spoon and fork beside the plate. He took off his apron and walked to Gokudera.
"Is there something wrong with Hibari?" Tsuna asked with a hint of tiredness in his voice. Gokudera shifted uncomfortably in his place; which didn't escape the brunette's eyes. The taller male inhaled the cigarette deeply before exhaled in the other direction and closed his eyes. Tsuna tilted his head in confusion.
"I don't think it's the best for you to meet him now, Tenth." Gokudera looked away as he spoke. His suddenly changed attitude made Tsuna frowned and became uneasy.
"What is it, Gokudera?" Tsuna asked in a more serious tone, but the hint of tiredness in his voice made it more like a request than a question. Gokudera shrugged and bit his bottom lip slightly.
"Well, he—"the male's sentences were cut off by a sudden explosion from the Rain Area. Tsuna jumped in surprised; his right hand on his left chest, trying to calm his heart beating. Before he could ask further, the storm guardian already stormed out of the kitchen toward the Rain Area.
"That bastard-!" Gokudera shouted while running as fast as he could, leaving the startled Tsuna behind. The still shocked Tsuna slumped on the floor, still looking at the direction of where his storm guardian ran off.
What the hell happened? The brunette shouted desperately inside of his head. Though he had matured in these past ten years, there are still some part of him that hard to change, and that is, his fear toward the Cloud Guardian. It's not that he was afraid of Hibari, no. He was afraid that Hibari might hurt the other guardian, and ended up fighting with them. And in the end, as the boss, Tsuna was the one to clean up the mess his guardian left behind. From re-constructed an infamous pub on the corner of the street, paid a large amount of money for a clothes shop in Namimori's Shopping District, until bought an already-broken-down restaurant outside of the Namimori with high price. Most of them were caused by his Gokudera, Ryohei and Lambo. Hibari could clean up the mess he made, but too bad his pride doesn't allow him to. Instead, he told the Disciplinary Committee to clean up, which was impossible for mere humans, and Tsuna ended up cleaned the mess again.
And now he had to clean up another mess early in the morning when he was supposed to eat the omelet he made perfectly. Snapped out of his thought, Tsuna rushed up toward the Rain Area.

Another explosion blew up the well-made metal wall as a long sharp sword clashed with the thick metal tonfa, light blue flames and purple flames met with each other. Yamamoto gritted his teeth under the heavy pressure and pushed his sword forward, sending the cloud guardian back ten meters away from him. He studied the annoyed expression on the cloud guardian's face carefully and drew back his sword.
"Come on, Hibari. Chrome would never do something like that. Maybe you got lost and mistaken them as your enemies, that's all." Yamamoto reassured the cloud guardian, who seemed unaffected. Hibari lowered his head as his death glare pierced through the rain guardian soul.
"She stole my prey. She and that bastard stole my prey." Hibari hissed coldly, his eyes glared dangerously toward the cheerful sword emperor, who still trying to calm his subordinate down. Yamamoto let out a heavy sigh in defeat before got into his fighting stance.
"Well, I guess I cannot convince you at all. Words can never go through you." The two guardians, weapons and rings on their hands glared at each other, making the atmosphere became heavier. No one even dared to move a muscle, the only sounds that could be heard was the calm wind. Yamamoto moved his right leg forward, and in a flash, Vongola Guardian of Rain and Vongola Guardian of Cloud clashed. The tense aura became tenser by each minute as they stubbornly tried to beat each other up. The two jumped back away, took their boxes out and started to activate them, until someone interrupted their fight.
"Yamamoto! Hibari! What happened here?" a familiar voice shouted at them. Yamamoto turned around to see his two of his best friends panting from the long run. He blinked a few times before smiled widely.
"Oh, Tsuna! Gokudera!" a carefree laugh escaped his lips as the silver haired guardian tried to hold back his anger. Before the storm guardian could say anything, Hibari's cold voice pierced the air.
"Where is that puppet, Sawada Tsunayoshi?" Hibari asked him coldly, teeth gritted in anger, body shaking in anticipation. His blood lust cannot be contained any longer.
