Old Shonen Animes Kinda Suck (And I LOVE IT!!!)

We have all watched at least one old Shonen anime, or have watched just the first few episodes of one. Maybe a single arc, or you could be like me and watch 440 episodes of Dragon Ball and 840 episodes of One Piece (at the time of making this). The classic Shonen formula is addicting, consist, and absolutely horrible. Usually Shonen anime start off with an arc that sets up the story, and gives a clear goal that could take any amount of time to get. It could be 13, or 1300 episodes. Collect the Dragon Balls, find the One Piece, become Hokage, BE THE WIZARD KING, all of these are goals that are simple and understandable. But as time goes on, the stacks start to increase. Dragon Ball goes from stopping an army, to killing a god. Multiple gods, in fact. The stacks eventually get too high, to the point where either it feels like the victory isn't deserved, like they got a random power-up or someone else defeats the main villain what isn't a part of the main cast, or like the hero is way too powerful for any future villains to actually be as decent as the one in the arc or saga that was just watched. Not only that, but there is usually a lot of plot holes in these shows, or things that just aren't explained well, or too many characters, but it's honestly a really addicting genre of anime. The fights are really fun to watch, seeing the new villain's strange and unique abilities, and watching the hero triumph past the enemy and stand among the battlefield, it gives a feeling of "It's over, we won". Newer Shonen make it clear where the power cap starts and ends. Boku No Hero Academia, Attack on Titan, Hunter x Hunter (2011, not the original), Mob Psycho, all of these newer Shonen anime have a power caps that are simple from the start, as well as a clear goal that the hero will eventually get to. To become All Might's successor, to kill all the titans, to find his father, all with simple goals and a power cap that prevents the hero from getting too strong, making fights more about strategy to win the battles then raw power, even if raw power is still needed, it isn't everything like it is in other classic Shonen, (And if it isn't the only thing, it's more noticeable in classic Shonen).

I read a part of a chapter of Death Note, it was good.
