Anime Relations: Imawa no Kuni no Alice
It strange how anime like this can squeeze intense emotions from me. And embarrassing.

Though Alice's plot is quite simple, I think the different games are something new. The second and especially the third were surprising and just clicked perfectly in the end of each episode.

Another surprising thing was Hosoya Yoshimasa's voice. I have nourished my ears with his dark tones before but I've never heard him like this. I didn't even recognize him in parts where Alice was going crazy or screaming with pretty high-pitched voice. Kudos to him.

The conclusion of why wolf was supposed to seek lambs was simply brilliant and heart-wrenching. Or then I'm just too easy. I knew that someone was going to die so I should have been prepared but no. They all went down after turning against each other.

Gee, thanks anime 👍 My eyes are quite puffy now.

(Spoilers ahead!)

If you honestly start to think about your favorite characters (I mean in a way that you read through your whole anime plus manga list, reminiscing and also writing down the characters...) you may do the same thing as I did: you add and add until there's a text that says "only ten characters allowed". Either you have three or four favorites or then you have at least fifteen -- you can't have straight ten, you can't I tell you!

Characters become close to our hearts especially now. I read that anime has become more character-related over the years and the plot often gets left behind. That's not always a problem though: just few weeks ago my friend was talking about Yowamushi Pedal, saying that the plot wasn't the thing that kept her watching it but the amazing, unique characters. Rings a bell, in sport anime especially.

I have now cleaned up my list of favorite characters and there is clearly not enough room for all my stars from the wide anime-sky. So now I am going to expand the list here, introducing the ones that should be right beside Kenshin, Ciel, Aoba, Rin, King, Tomoko, Kid, Lain, Konata and Kaneki (surprisingly many K's) in my list.

Arslan
He isn't one of the most colorful characters in Arslan Senki but he is generous, rightful, sweet and has gorgeous hair. He has his occasional awkwardness that I adore but he's also surprisingly mature under a load of pressure that would make me run into a corner and cry. I believe he will become a fine king.

Kuchiki Rukia
Rukia is a badass. She's not the most powerful shinigami but the attitude she has pretty much covers that. She stays cool in dangerous situations unless someone she cares about is hurt. She usually hides her feelings, especially the gentle ones, which makes me relate to her but she is also sincere and firm when that is needed. And I need to add that, in my opinion at least, she is sometimes the only one who can keep Ichigo standing.

Nicolas Brown
He has become my favorite amazingly fast. No matter how brutal and insane he looks like as he fights (which are traits that I don't really despise...) there's something very sweet in him. He treats fairly and kindly the people he trusts and he isn't ashamed to be what he is. Needless to say but I'm going to say it anyways, the fact that he is deaf is a great detail -- I have never seen something like that in anime.

Hyakuya Mikaela
I don't know why I like tragic characters. I might be sadist. Either way Mikaela is a sad and lonely character which has seen many bad days. I like him because even though he is powerful and strong enough to resist his blood-lust and fight for the ones he cares about, he's actually quite unbalanced. He's possessive, angry and unpredictable -- and who can blame him?

Takanashi Rikka
She is the definition of adorable. Although she acts like a child and lives in her own daydream she's not stupid nor annoying. No matter how hard she tries to escape reality she finds courage to face it at some point, but in her own unique way. She's sincerely her own person and that is something that I admire.

Vincent Law
Again a tragic character but not one of the most hopeless ones at least. While watching Ergo Proxy I liked him immediately. He's the average, awkward guy who happens to be in a wrong place at wrong time. Or that was what it looked like but then his role in the story surprised me and only made me love him more. At the same time he is the victim and the guilty and I love that incoherence. He is determined to know the truth no matter how difficult it is, and understands Re-l, despite her inner walls.

Art
Art is my favorite character in Hamatora and ironically the one the show tried to kill off constantly. It was a very fun ride for me indeed. In the first season I loved how clearly he cared about others and never let himself get too depressed about not having minimum-ability. In Re:Hamatora I felt for him even though he was the bad guy -- he had a motive and he was broken in many ways. And good-guys-gone-bad are popular for a reason (the reason is a bit hazy but true enough).

Revy
Everyone in my list has at least one humane trait in them but I' not sure about that when I'm introducing Revy. Sure she has her tender moments. But all in all she is arrogant, merciless, scary and downright insane. She doesn't see world as black and white nor gray but pitch black. I guess I don't have any smart reason to like her but I do because she is capable of almost anything and no matter what has happened to her in past or will happen she keeps going with shit-eating grin and guns loaded.

More love will probably be born between me and anime/manga characters but for now these are the enough.
