Anime Relations: Appleseed (Movie), Appleseed
I've been adding stuff that I watched so long ago, I forgot I had watched them... Like Appleseed (not the recent remake, although I watched that, too).

Also, I DO accept random friend requests, although I'm on irregularly please bear with me.

Otherwise, I wish everyone well.

I hope that the season is going well for everyone, and wish you all a fantastic 2010.

As for me, i hope to write some more reviews, and also add a few things that I forgot to my list, as I come to remember them. Most of it was from years ago.

Thanks also for to the founders of this site, for inventing it, and making it work... it is simple yet elegant, I wonder why nobody thought of it earlier.

This is sort of a test of this blog thing, please comment if you read it.

I just did my shortest review yet, on the DDM movie (Digital Devil Monogatari Megami Tensei).

It was enjoyable for me, but that's because I was very curious about the megaten series, and set out of find it and just about everything related to the series, for a while... but that was a long time ago and, I don't think they're very many people who would enjoy that anime, since it hasn't aged very well.

Moreover, it is not based on the games.

It is based on a light novel, "Digtal Devil Moongatari", which was translated fairly faithfully into the anime (not perfect, but the major points were there). On the other hand, the games were altered more and more, until the Persona series (of which Revelations:Persona was the first English language release), which was totally different from the previous games, and based more on Jungian philosophy than on the DDM novel or the previous games.

However, for most people, the SMT:Nocturne games were their introduction to megaten, so they tend to jump to the conclusion that the anime was game-based... but it really was not, at all.

On another side-note, the founders of Atlus (Japan, not Atlus USA) left NAMCO to form their own company, perhaps expecting the series to become a cash cow... which it seems to be, at least in Japan.

The majority of the megaten games have never been officially released in English, and they are all quite tedious, so much so that absolutely nobody I know of has ever finished any of them (but many people have, since they are FAQs and gameplay footage from at least some of the endings). In general, they take interesting concepts which were revolutionary for the time, and add a million random battles on top of them... which suits the previous generation of tedium-loving, time-killing games, I suppose, but, I am not impressed by this.

Well, i could ramble on about it but I will prob. set up a more public blog later... and my intention here was just to say something random here. XD
