Explaining my scores.
Anime Relations: Shinseiki Evangelion Movie: Air/Magokoro wo, Kimi ni
Just because I have gave an anime a 4/10 doesn't mean I don't like it, all my scores are relative to every other score on my list. A 4/10 just means I like It more than a 3/10 but less than a 5/10. If you want to translate my scores into opinions a four is about a five on most lists, not bad just mediocre because of this you could say I dislike and anime that is a 3 or below and like an anime that is a 5 or higher. You might ask why I have my midpoint for score at four and not at five like most other people? This is why.
If my mid point was a 5 I would have 4 scores to show how much I dislike something (1-4), one mid point (5) and 4 scores to show how much I like something (6-10). The problem with this is that most the anime on my list I like (because I don't often jump into an anime blind) so I am using this system so I have more scores to show how much I like anime (5-10) but I only have 3 scores to show how much I dislike anime (1-3). This allows me to have a greater range of scoring for anime I like. If I ever start watching only anime I don't like I might change to a more standard system of scoring but right now this is better.
My manga scoring is normal though only because I have read significantly less.
UPDATE: RIP scoring system 28 December 2020 - Tuesday, 8 March 2022
My scoring system is now back to normal, while I stand by the fact that this is a good system now that I have seen more anime that I dislike this system is become less and less useful, also the utility gained from it is almost lost on the confusion it makes.
