I don't know why but I really felt like writing a blog today, last time I wrote a blog post was back in February about the disgraced promised neverland episode and how they fucked it up. Today I want to write about sports anime, a genre that enjoy.

I believe Haikyuu was the first sports anime I ever watched as that was the one all my friends were recommending. I enjoyed it and finished it in about a week or so. It was good enough for me to watch the second season about a month later and after watching around 15 episodes of season two I left it for a couple months (only god knows why) and finished it in August of 2021. Something stuck out about the show which is why I liked it so much. The soundtrack was incredible, the animation was fantastic (especially when hinata spikes the ball) and the physical comedy was quite good. All in all the show sent out a nice vibe.

I wanted to watch more sports anime but never got the time. Boxing anime was my priority as that is a sport I take interest in, I had heard of Hajime No Ippo and Ashita No Joe and wanted to give them a try. I watched the first three episodes of Ashita No Joe and discovered that I had a postcard of the main character Yabuki Joe on my wall that I got from a manga exhibition in London, I got it just because I liked the art so I know this show had some potential. I hadn't heard much about the show beforehand, I only know it was a really old anime from 1971. Apart from the sound quality not being the best, I quite enjoyed the show, the main bad things about it was how I hated the stubbornness from Joe and how annoying the little kids were.

Hajime No Ippo was much more up my alley, I watched the first four episodes in a night and enjoyed it. The show is more modern and was made in 2000 so the graphics were good and thank god so was the sound quality. Straight off the bat Ippo gets into boxing after being recruited by a lovable boxer and he establishes his rival. All the characters in this show are really nice and I couldn't ask for anyone better, not to mention how good the opening is. As of writing this blog I've only watched the first 12 episodes and I can tell this is going to be a good show.

As for other sports I've haven't really delved into them but I do want to watch Slam Dunk and Captain Tsubasa.

Thanks pretty much it for this blog post.
Thanks for reading!

*SPOILER EPISODE 5+*

So I was watching the Promised Neverland episode 5 and shit was it bad, like really, really bad. Let me take you on a trip!

This episode started out as the grace field children in a demon town in disguise though first you don't know it, but it shows a couple seconds later. So somehow they are in a demon town without anyone knowing after leaving you with a cliffhanger from last episode where they were running away from humans (I'll get to that in a moment) and monsters like what the fuck! All of the sudden they are safe from out of nowhere, ohhh, and I forgot to say but it's a time skip about two years, yeah, I know you didn't see that coming! After last episode I was left a bit disappointed after no sign of Yugi whatsoever implying that they were going to cut out goldy pond all together and that we weren't going to be able to meet Lucas and the others. There was another issue as well, *sighs*, WHY WERE THERE HUMANS!!! It doesn't even get explained why there were humans in the first place and no foreshadowing whatsoever. I don't really want to touch on that matter because after all that was last episode and not this one. Sooooooo, Norman is a thing now hahahahaha, yeah I'm not joking he was just reintroduced again at the end of the episode, there was no hints at all or any way of knowing that he was going to come back, as a manga reader I was confused as fuck about what just happened, I just... I just can't comprehend how shit this just got, it easily brought the score down from a nine to a seven easily. There was also a pointless action scene as well with clunky parkour and useless characters (the two demons), I think this scene was just to introduce Norman and nothing else. Hopefully next episode makes up for this one!

That's about it for this episode! If I missed anything please let me know!
Thanks for reading!
