Welcome back everyone! This is the last blog of 2016!
: Finally, this year has been awful!
While there's been a lot of problems with this year I'd rather not talk about that sort of thing. Instead, let's do what we always do and talk about cute girls! Specifically the meganekko for this year!
: I mean seriously, have you seen all the terrible shows you've seen? Wait, that didn't make sense. Er, sorry, I was getting lost in thought.
Don't worry, happens to me all the time. But this is no time to talk about horrible mamocentric series, as it's better just to forget they ever happened, but rather we get to celebrate the meganekko of the year!
: Speaking of which, you still haven't told me who it was going to be...
Shhh, it's time for the show to start.
*The lights start dimming.*
: You're just avoiding the question with convenient plot occurrences, aren't you...

: I just flew here from Japan, and man are my arms tired!
: Hopefully not tired enough to not perform.
: Of course not. And as such, let's begin!
*The crowd cheers at the girls' performance.*
: Wait, I thought that the meganekko was the main feature.
Still, seeing her on stage like that is more than what the anime ever did.
: Now, as promised we'll be drawing a lucky ticket. The ticket holder will be able to come backstage with me, bringing their company as well.

*Yozora reaches into the large box and pulls out the a piece of paper. The two girls then announce the number together.*

That's a relief, I don't know what would have happened if you had said no. But since you approve, let's continue on and say...
: Wait, aren't you afraid that since she's from a still-airing series she might have more things come out about her?
That is a possibility, but it's a chance I want to take. Besides, this is the sort of tempting fate I like to do. Either my blog will remain correct or I'll get bonus Koharu focus in a way that I'd enjoy. It's a win-win situation!
: I suppose that's one way to look at it... But what am I saying, we've come too far to stop now!
Where we're going we don't need roads! And now let's get going!
Head
Hair: Koharu has really great hair. It's a lovely light purple, which while it could be darker is absolutely beautiful. Aikatsu really does put a lot of effort into making sure the girls hair looks amazing, and she's no exception. Koharu's style does suffer slightly, as her hair is a short bob cut. I would have rather her hair been long, much like Sumire's before her, but it still looks amazing (even reaching her shoulders would help). Her bangs are also brushed to the side most of the time. It's somewhat bland but doesn't hurt her too much either. Koharu's look wouldn't be complete without her flower either, which is worn at about her right temple. Finally, there's a few wigs that she tries on during a clothing roulette in one of the episodes. There were a couple longer ones, but my favorite was with the cat hood as it was a dark purple and her hair had a straight cut as well as longer than her shoulders (though the long wavy brown hair, teacher bun, and twintails were all great too).
Grade: A-
Eyes: Koharu has really beautiful eyes. I do suppose that she does have a flaw in that her eyes are rounded and tarame, but it fits her shy personality well. There is the problem of having some eyelashes, but nothing too troubling. Her eyes are also purple, and you know how I feel about purple eyes (they're wonderful). Her eyes are a little darker than her hair, but I'd say that it's an acceptable similar color to consider it matching. Like with her hair, Aikatsu does eyes incredibly well. Koharu's eyes are full of light and emotions and it's hard to say why but I adore her eyes. If they had a tsurime Koharu would have EASILY gotten a perfect here. But that's not all...
Of course, we can't talk about the meganekko of the year without mentioning her glasses. Koharu's usual glasses are a pair of underframe red glasses, though in the card game it seems like the whole frame is there. She does wear other types, including full-frame, sunglasses, and even a snorkeling mask in the clothing roulette and seems to have a drawer full of additional pairs. Of course, most importantly is that I do not think we've seen Koharu NOT wearing glasses. At least as far as I remember, we may have seen her sleeping or something but her eyes are obscured or out of frame or something. Even in the Halloween episode she tricked Asahi by wearing silly mustache glasses when he thought he'd see her without glasses, giving him a surprise. If the card game is any indication it seems like Koharu is even the only meganekko in Aikatsu to actually wear her glasses on stage! Overall, with all the glasses attention Koharu is certainly deserving of a perfect score.
Grade: A+
Face: Koharu's face is fairly simple and cute, like a lot of the characters in the series. Not exactly, you can still tell the characters (the different eye colors help) but it's not like she has any major features (other than her grand glasses but we've already pointed that out). Her dot nose is cute, and I like how cheerful Koharu usually is. She often has a gentle smile, being warm and inviting as well as helpful and supportive. Other characters have also mentioned that she has pretty skin, which is good but it's hard to tell that in anime.
Grade: B+
Body
Build: Koharu does surprisingly well here. She's 159 cm, at least as far as my data goes, which is a fair hight for her age. She's at least taller than Yume, the lead girl, from what I can tell. Sadly Koharu doesn't get a performance, or at least a solo one (as you saw above she does have a performance, but only in the game). This means that she doesn't show off her body as well as I would like, she needs to wear shorts like Yume did and shake her butt. Yume also needs to do that as well again, but I digress. That said, Koharu looks amazing during her performance as a showgirl. I was completely surprised by how sexy she turned out to be, with her slender yet soft thighs getting a close up while they crossed. It was just so great, and I would love to see Koharu do it again (perhaps with more confidence and an even sexier performance, like showing her ass more). Overall I do like her body but I also want more service too. I also should mention that she is shown plumped up in the episode with the Fairy drama, as she's supposed to be a pampered "Koharuderella" but considering it ruins her glasses (she was wearing another pair) I don't think that was too good of a part.
Grade: B
Chest: Koharu is a slender preteen, and she sadly doesn't show off her chest too much either (even as far as a swimsuit or something goes). I do like how a few of her dresses seem at least tight against her flat chest, showing it off better than baggy clothes.
Grade: B-
Clothes: Koharu does extremely well here too. Her usual outfit is the school uniform which consists of a light blue one-piece dress with a dark collar, blue necktie, the school crest on her left chest, and slightly lower than knee-high socks. The other uniform (I'm not sure which is the summer or winter version) is a white sailor uniform. It's not too impressive, but luckily Koharu is sexy! Well, that's true, but rather than the obvious meaning I meant that she counts as a "sexy" idol. This means that she gets a purple tracksuit and performs in many fashion shows. The main one is a really great galaxy-designed mid-drift-showing two-piece dress which looks really great. She also wore a seductive blue and purple dress with garters and heels for her show, and while the heels can be ignored the rest were really great. During the clothing roulette in an early episode Koharu dresses as a teacher, a nice fancy tan dress, a cat-hood outfit, a pink dress, a white scuba bodysuit, and a trenchcoat. In the Halloween episode she wears a blue fairy costume, and most of the time she has a jack-o-lantern on her head covering it. Finally, as seen in her picture she does wear a Santa outfit in official art.
Grade: A-
Mind
Personality: Koharu is a great girl, being shy and reserved and appealing to me well. She's very supportive, always aiding her friends from behind the scenes. She also has some grandmother-ish qualities, with always having candy or other helpful items in her pockets. Sadly as mentioned before we don't see her perform, and in general the anime has a case of almost always pushing her to the side in order to focus on the other characters. She did get some highlights, such as the Halloween episode, but even in episodes focused on her we don't get to see her perform. She tries hard though, even recovering from a trip while on the modeling stage. Also as mentioned before she's a "sexy"-style idol, she's in the Moon Beauty class, and her favorite brand is Romance Kiss. Her voice actress is Megumi Yamaguchi, who does a wonderful soft voice. She's also a newer talent, at least for me as I only know her as Koharu and Hifumi from New Game. The biggest problem is that, currently, Koharu is away from the main cast in Italy (due to her father's work). At this point we don't know if she'll return or not, but I do hope that we see this sweet, lovable meganekko some more. Oh, and the title joke is because the "Haru" in her name means "spring".
Grade: B+
Libido: Koharu has a surprising amount of love interests, especially if you consider that it's a show for young girls (well, I guess it's not THAT surprising, but still). First and foremost is probably Yume. Yume is the lead character and has been Koharu's childhood friend, even going to the school and becoming roommates together. Yume was also extremely broken up after Koharu left, though not all of it was due to Koharu. That said I don't pair them together (and I don't think the show intentionally did it either). However, Koharu herself is enamored with Yozora from S4, so much so that she joined the Moon Beauty classes (which is where Yozora takes classes). It's hard to tell if this is just adoration and respect or if Koharu is actually in love with Yozora in yuri ways. Speaking of her classes, her biggest rival and ace of her year classes is Mahiru. While this isn't as concrete as the respect she pays Yozora it's easy to see that both Koharu and Mahiru have some type of relationship together. Finally, from M4 we have Asahi (the straight option) who also seems to have a crush on Koharu, especially after her performance on stage. Considering he's the "shota" of M4 I wouldn't mind if it worked out (but I'd prefer her going with Yozora still. I mean, when she was fantasizing acting with Yozora and this popped into her head...). The humorous thing is that Yozora, Asahi, and Mahiru are all siblings, which I find really funny. Anyway, outside of crushes and relationships Koharu does seem to be able to be seductive if she wants to be. I was certainly surprised by her stage show, as was the majority of the cast as even though she was embarrassed she really nailed it.
Grade: B
Age: My sources say that she's 12, which does sound familiar. We do see her and Yume at a younger point in flashbacks, but I wouldn't count that. Koharu's birthday seems to be April 15th. Overall not great, but at least she looks like a fitting preteen.

Wearing glasses all the time helps, but I think the biggest thing is the improved grading scale.

Other characters have also mentioned that she has pretty skin, which is good but it's hard to tell that in anime.

Body
Build: Koharu does surprisingly well here. She's 159 cm, at least as far as my data goes, which is a fair hight for her age. She's at least taller than Yume, the lead girl, from what I can tell. Sadly Koharu doesn't get a performance, or at least a solo one (as you saw above she does have a performance, but only in the game). This means that she doesn't show off her body as well as I would like, she needs to wear shorts like Yume did and shake her butt. Yume also needs to do that as well again, but I digress. That said, Koharu looks amazing during her performance as a showgirl. I was completely surprised by how sexy she turned out to be, with her slender yet soft thighs getting a close up while they crossed. It was just so great, and I would love to see Koharu do it again (perhaps with more confidence and an even sexier performance, like showing her ass more). Overall I do like her body but I also want more service too. I also should mention that she is shown plumped up in the episode with the Fairy drama, as she's supposed to be a pampered "Koharuderella" but considering it ruins her glasses (she was wearing another pair) I don't think that was too good of a part.

Chest: Koharu is a slender preteen, and she sadly doesn't show off her chest too much either (even as far as a swimsuit or something goes). I do like how a few of her dresses seem at least tight against her flat chest, showing it off better than baggy clothes.

Clothes: Koharu does extremely well here too. Her usual outfit is the school uniform which consists of a light blue one-piece dress with a dark collar, blue necktie, the school crest on her left chest, and slightly lower than knee-high socks. The other uniform (I'm not sure which is the summer or winter version) is a white sailor uniform. It's not too impressive, but luckily Koharu is sexy! Well, that's true, but rather than the obvious meaning I meant that she counts as a "sexy" idol. This means that she gets a purple tracksuit and performs in many fashion shows. The main one is a really great galaxy-designed mid-drift-showing two-piece dress which looks really great. She also wore a seductive blue and purple dress with garters and heels for her show, and while the heels can be ignored the rest were really great. During the clothing roulette in an early episode Koharu dresses as a teacher, a nice fancy tan dress, a cat-hood outfit, a pink dress, a white scuba bodysuit, and a trenchcoat. In the Halloween episode she wears a blue fairy costume, and most of the time she has a jack-o-lantern on her head covering it. Finally, as seen in her picture she does wear a Santa outfit in official art.

Mind
Personality: Koharu is a great girl, being shy and reserved and appealing to me well. She's very supportive, always aiding her friends from behind the scenes. She also has some grandmother-ish qualities, with always having candy or other helpful items in her pockets. Sadly as mentioned before we don't see her perform, and in general the anime has a case of almost always pushing her to the side in order to focus on the other characters. She did get some highlights, such as the Halloween episode, but even in episodes focused on her we don't get to see her perform. She tries hard though, even recovering from a trip while on the modeling stage. Also as mentioned before she's a "sexy"-style idol, she's in the Moon Beauty class, and her favorite brand is Romance Kiss. Her voice actress is Megumi Yamaguchi, who does a wonderful soft voice. She's also a newer talent, at least for me as I only know her as Koharu and Hifumi from New Game. The biggest problem is that, currently, Koharu is away from the main cast in Italy (due to her father's work). At this point we don't know if she'll return or not, but I do hope that we see this sweet, lovable meganekko some more. Oh, and the title joke is because the "Haru" in her name means "spring".

Libido: Koharu has a surprising amount of love interests, especially if you consider that it's a show for young girls (well, I guess it's not THAT surprising, but still). First and foremost is probably Yume. Yume is the lead character and has been Koharu's childhood friend, even going to the school and becoming roommates together. Yume was also extremely broken up after Koharu left, though not all of it was due to Koharu. That said I don't pair them together (and I don't think the show intentionally did it either). However, Koharu herself is enamored with Yozora from S4, so much so that she joined the Moon Beauty classes (which is where Yozora takes classes). It's hard to tell if this is just adoration and respect or if Koharu is actually in love with Yozora in yuri ways. Speaking of her classes, her biggest rival and ace of her year classes is Mahiru. While this isn't as concrete as the respect she pays Yozora it's easy to see that both Koharu and Mahiru have some type of relationship together. Finally, from M4 we have Asahi (the straight option) who also seems to have a crush on Koharu, especially after her performance on stage. Considering he's the "shota" of M4 I wouldn't mind if it worked out (but I'd prefer her going with Yozora still. I mean, when she was fantasizing acting with Yozora and this popped into her head...). The humorous thing is that Yozora, Asahi, and Mahiru are all siblings, which I find really funny. Anyway, outside of crushes and relationships Koharu does seem to be able to be seductive if she wants to be. I was certainly surprised by her stage show, as was the majority of the cast as even though she was embarrassed she really nailed it.

Age: My sources say that she's 12, which does sound familiar. We do see her and Yume at a younger point in flashbacks, but I wouldn't count that. Koharu's birthday seems to be April 15th. Overall not great, but at least she looks like a fitting preteen.
