It was great with high potential, the first few episodes are just right. But then everything started to rush. Plot, character development, story consistency, and everything else is a mess then. Seriously, the existing rank is unjustifiable. If it is not because of the first few episodes, this anime is truly a shame for its potential.

Except the great hook and mystery in last episode, it's lacking really. There is the consistent trope of unexplained and unneeded harem echi. There is no character development at all. The characters themselves seems unstable, barely able to reason about their role in the story. The fights unrelatable because lacking background in its fighting mechanism. Seriously, all that you know is that puppets need magic from puppeter. So, when the protagonist shouts these spells that are supposed to be cool, you feel weirded out if anything. Nothing mentioned about how they interact, the limit of consciousness, nothing at all. They will however throw random things about the mechanism of puppets when convenience in battle scenes out of blue though. The visuals are nothing particular, as you can see the framerate from the CG during some parts. The plot is awful, awful. If you stop and think even for 10s for every decision of the characters, you'll be bewildered about their stupidity or their inconsistencies with their purpose.

Cartharsis is the core of this film. A very fulfilling anime without cheesiness. Flairs in moments where needed, balanced with seriousness full of tense atmosphere. Filled with symbolism, and successfully show its core message of the whole animation. A perfect bright slice of life, with drama that doesn't fall in cliche. It is impressive to bring out all the emotion of drama which all is very different from extreme romance and life-death dramas you normally see.

Shows a good promise but can't live to it. Truth be told, this is way too cheesy.

Personally, this one stayed in my watchlist for a while. And I bet you will feel the same like me if you watch it, "I should have watch it sooner!".

I won't specify any detail, because this one is too good to spoil anything. But I gotta warn you, what a masterpiece this is.

It started humble and peaceful, but by the middle you will be jumbled by the crazy plot.

Not many story can put multiple genres and come out great. This one done so like it is the most natural thing to do. All tied down to the drama of the main characters.

In roughly 2 hours, it brings multiple problems and managed to close it all perfectly, no loosed end. You have multiple climax waiting for you with decent ending.

It has the perfect balance between the story telling of "all seeing observer" and of "main characters 3rd person observer".

It knows how to play suspense, making the air so heavy to breath. And only some occasion it overplay that (maybe they can reduce a few seconds in some parts).

The movie as an art, a communication device, serves well. It sticks to most of the realistic components of real life, but shows just enough theatrical flair to visualized abstract emotions.

The moral story, the message behind the story is loud and clear. I won't say it here, you need to watch it and see how beautiful the way they convey it.

P.s. Here, I found the most respectable character I ever see in anime. So strong and so human.

It has the quality of "unpredictable ending" (except that the protagonist will always power up, all characters simply sacrificed).
If you want for occasional excitement, go for it. But don't expect any other, considering the lack of deep plot or justifying details for the story.
This is obviously not for people who likes drama, because it has that shounen oh-mighty-protagonist. Personally, I think the anime is overrated.
