I'd reccomend those who enjoyed the fantasy and animal aspects of Wolf's Rain try on Ginga Densetsu Weed for size. They both use animals as main characters, and they both have one of those scripts that can take you from a laugh, to bawling on the floor and back again in the blink of an eye. Although Ginga is bloody and violent, at times it does seem more oreinted towards a younger audience than Wolf's Rain is, but overall they're very similar.

Both Saint Seiya Omega and GDW are a sequel to the classic 80s Shonen anime series: Omega to Saint Seiya and GDW to GNG (okay, Omega is more of a spin-off, but still) and they follow the adventures of a new generation, but we also see old characters supporting them. The series has a lot of excitement, action and touching moments almost as much as the original series. Both have a pretty questionable reputation among fans, but if you’re a big Ginga or STS fan, which isn't affected by potential problems in the series, I highly recommend these!

Both are about talking dogs that have to struggle with fighting against other dogs. GDW is a bit darker than Baekgu though and has almost no human-involvement while Baekgu has alot of human involvement. Also, the characters in GDW are wild dogs that fight against a pack of evil dogs, but the characters in Baekgu are forced to fight in dog fighting arenas for human entertianment after either being captured as strays or stolen from their owners. Also, while Baekgu does have violence there is no gore. The injuries to dogs even when severly injuried are just shown as scratches. GDW, on the other hand,  read more

Densetsu Weed is also about dogs, a group of wild dogs, who can talk to each other. They try to defend their paradise forest home from malevolent forces.
