No Longer Allowed in Another World* is a painful example of how not to write an isekai. The story starts with an interesting twist—Sensei, a writer on the brink of double suicide, is hit by a truck and sent to another world. Instead of embracing the adventurer’s life, he searches for his lost lover, Sacchan. This premise, which could have offered a profound exploration of grief and purpose, is squandered on shallow character arcs and tonal inconsistencies that leave the narrative feeling hollow.

The characters are as lifeless as the monsters they fight. Sensei’s brooding cynicism quickly grows tedious, as his refusal to engage ...

No Longer Allowed In Another World - No Longer Human, Isekai version? Yes and Amen to death.

Let's just admit this one sole fact: Isekai is just getting boring with each iteration of new seasonal shows with the same wash, rinse, repeat shtick, that one look and you'll be right to give it a miss that you won't forget to not come back. That works for about 90% of the time, but sometimes, there's shows that do have that same gimmick, but offers something else in return, and despite the negative connotations just from the title alone, the true meat of the story goes deep-diving into ...

This is certainly not my first anime that I've seen where we've had a character (loosely) based off of famed writer Osamu Dezaki, suicidal tendencies and all, even some of his works being incorporated into the show (his most famous work reworded into the title of Isekai Shikkaku, No Longer Allowed In Another World), Bungo Stray Dogs and the Aoi Bungaku series come to mind. Anybody who is slightly aware of this man knows what they're probably getting themselves into, and I was no different.

I thought I could still stomach such a show, and at one stage of my life I most certainly could have. ...

This anime is one of the gems of the season.
First off please check the Genre - Isekai Parody
It should be enough to let you know if you want to start it.

After first 3 episodes, it is more of a slice of life tales of wisdom.

Story - It has a unique story about an isekaid MC who actually doesn't want to be there and just wanted to die. (In trailer and first minute of show)
The misadventures that follow are hilarious and have more depth than many famous shows.
This show is having great writing and it showed till 4th ep and will continue in upcoming episodes.
Characters - ...

Really been loving this anime, have never joined in anime forums but this really deserved my comment. The character growth is really great:
- from a job that lost it's meaning and not being a bird in a cage (Anette),
- the desire to replace someone and losing yourself in the process (Tama),
- protecting the wrong people and being condemned by them (Esche),
- realizing that your justice was wrong (Yamada)
- not being controlled by the sudden power given to you and instead choosing to use it for good, despite having deficiencies (Saitou / Mr. Wolf)
- learning to have courage (Nir)

Didn't want this to be a philosophical take ...

A Good Funny parody take on Isekai Genre.
The most comparable anime to this one would be kunosuba, but this take on a more dark tone, with more real life and adult perspective, a bored to death adult writer one as that. As well as this is one of the few isekai that the MC is not from the present day world, but the 1900s instead, so there's also many interesting aspect in that.

Recommend for: Isekai, parody, comedy
Not recommend for, if you don't like: Isekai, Travel/journey style story
Neutral: Animation, production quality, directing

Full review:
First of all, the concept and parody itself is pretty good, funny, and unique. ...

Watching a promising anime idea be ruined by romantic cliches and fanservice is disappointing. The emphasis on the side characters’ devotion to the main character for no apparent reason weakens the plot. The presence of cringeworthy scenes and the show’s attempt to appeal to specific demographics – be it fans of “neko” or “milf” characters – weakens the show even further. It would be much better if the narrative could be told without having to rely on these stunts.

Also I'm growing increasingly tired of the predictable formula in many anime shows: introduce a male protagonist, and shortly after he is surrounded by a group of ...

Mixed Feelings
This one is a mixed bag for me. On one hand it surely didn’t follow the usual isekai routine with a bland MC that has zero traits and personality, on the other - it still plays really safe and doesn’t stand out too much. Now let me give you a bit more details.
World/story. An isekai world mass imported unhappy broken people to wage their war only to find out that unhappy broken people can easily go rogue, so someone now needs to solve this new problem. I will not lie that while the whole mass transportation isn’t a new concept, a twist with rogue heroes ...

As a writer, there is no way I could have written this show. It is very well done, from the characters first: they all seem kind of one note at first, but the season delivers a lot in regards to their stories and gives quite a bit in character development. Each episode shows us a lesson from Sensei's stories, which usually involve him creeping around just observing and writing. Many side characters are interesting as well, and often relate directly to the overarching episodic plot.
The music is okay, but used at important times which is nice. The jokes are kind of repetitive but not ...

Isekai Shikkaku isn’t exactly a bad anime… it just has too many “meh” moments to call it good. I found myself bored through a lot of it, only really getting hooked toward the end of episode 8 when I finally understood where things were going. By episode 4, the direction felt predictable, but the pacing made it drag on. I like the main character and even relate to him, but I kept wishing I could skip to the last episode to see how it all ends.

Honestly, I wished the whole anime would just end in one season, but since the main goal isn’t resolved yet, ...

A refreshing take on isekai-genre. Still your classic isekai in every way, but with some twists. Main character Sensei really hard carries this show. Most unique isekai main protag I've seen in a while. Definitely not impressive or anything like that in terms of production quality, just a plain old middle of the road isekai. But very refreshing, which is most important to me in a bloated genre like this. If you cannot enjoy sensei and his antics, then this show probably isn't for you. If you can get a chuckle out of some of the things sensei does, then this show is for ...

I was going to wait for all episodes to air before writing my review but having watched episode 4 i cant wait no longer!

This is a comedy story about a person who was about to commit double suicide but failed as he was hit by a truck before he and his lover? could actually commit.
(We all know that being hit by truck-kun means you get reincarnated in another world).

So how can a story about someone who want to commit suicide be funny? Is it even funny?
The answer is yes! Its definitely quite funny, despite me having a close family member who tried but ...

I picked this up expecting a trash isekai, it turned out to be well above par. I would recommend it to those who like Natsume's Book of Friends, anyone who enjoys isekai parodies, or anyone who likes conflict resolved without violence.
I would caution anyone who might feel uncomfortable with the topic of suicide against watching it, though I would still recommend it anyway.

The main character is a wizened writer who also constantly seeks and embraces his own death. This makes him into a character that is somewhat endearing with motives that ignore the danger in the world. The only reason he doesnt outright die ...

absolutely hilarious. the jokes about the isekai tropes being demolished by Sensei's nature never fail to make me laugh.

the show also has poetic scenes and theming throughout, which is considerably rare for shounen anime. actually this anime doesn't even really feel like a shounen sometimes, it just critisizes shounen genres and tropes.

the op and ed for this show are just absolutely insane. the way the intro has this
"shouwa era" feeling just hits the dermis for me. and the calm, reflective feeling of the outro always ends up making me get emo.

P.S.
people who get mad about the edgyness of this show need to grow up. ...

A New Fresh Breath to the Isekai series.. Is how i would sum up this series. Its been more than a decade i have been watching anime there were many isekai mangas that i have read and animes i have watched but this is something new for me. And i will be Seriously reviewing this anime Because it had great potential as a masterpiece had it been Well written with a Serious tone And slight Hints of comedy. But there is too much Comedy and its not even that Funny.

Story 8/10 - As i said Breath of fresh air in the isekai world it explores ...

I can understand the backlash of this with regards to the sensitive subject of suicide seemingly being made fun of, but i see it differently. I see this series as more of a beautiful drama than a light-hearted comedy, people complaining about the oversexualized women must not go out much if they don't think it's realistic... anyways, it's anime, it's a form of story-telling, it will NOT be everyone's cup of tea, but to deny the story itself for reasons you yourself may not understand is petty. I say give it a chance then judge accordingly from whatever perspective you may have and be objective, ...

I didn't watch this at first but after my wife luckily took a look, we both fell head first into the storyline. No Longer Allowed in Another World takes on the popular and overdone trope of transporting sad otakus into another world - and puts a fun twist on it.

Though other reviewers feel it's the main character is one dimensional, it takes the superpower of a hero into the powers of the psychological - which I'm a big fan of. If people come out of this learning a thing or two more about feelings and that there's no such thing ...

I almost did not watch this anime but I got bored and gave it a chance and I'm glad I did. It's a little different than other isekai in that the main character has a more melancholic tendency than the average and the people of the world he's transported into don't quite know what to do with him at first. The characters were likeable but in the first few episodes they were a little forgettable, but came into their own as the story played out. The narrative also had this trouble a little too but once it found its footing, I looked forward to watching ...

Osamu Dazai, author of "no longer human", One of the fathers of modern Japanese literature, chronically depressed, women magnet, talked four different women into committing couples suicide with him, they all died but for him it only took on the fifth attempt where he tied himself to his lover and both jumped into the river in 1948.

Take that guy and have him get hit by Truck-kun's grandpa just before he could make that fateful jump.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaand Isekaied!

It's actually fitting that literally 30 seconds of being in a typical Isekai world his first action was to attempt to kill himself out of ...

One of the best Isekai Anime I've ever watched, All aspect of this just overwhelmingly good, Even the world design or background story aren't that deep but all of the character stories just giving you that type of feeling that hard to get from Anime, even it kinda low-key drama, but every episode is worth the tear, also the mc characteristic is hard to find in anime these days now, Also the MC power is some what mind blowing and unique, they would wiped out all of the Isekai OP that ever made For sure a worth to watch if you a fan of Isekai ...
