Both were animated by TMS Entertainment and 8PAN. Differences: These two anime are entirely different in some ways but do have some similar qualities. They are similar because they both have very nice main characters and express a heartfelt story throughout the anime. However fruits basket has a lot less action, highly developed plot, and tension to it. So it all depends of what you liked in D.Gray-man.

3 things: 1. Both were sequels. 2. Both deals with the fighting supernaturals. 3. Both MC's were demons fight their own kind.

- Similar story style - Both protagonists have a tragic childhood - Both protagonists have a weird arm as weapon - Exorcists and Alchemists are similar
