While deep in thought, Ruri Miyamoto loses her glasses. Unable to see well without them, she requests the help of Kosaki Onodera and Raku Ichijou to recover her spectacles. Although Ruri uses this chance to create an ideal romantic opportunity between Kosaki and Raku, her poor eyesight cannot stop her from seeing that Raku may be blinder to his surroundings than she expected.

On New Year's Eve, Raku's father asks him and his friends to work at a local shrine for the day. However, misfortune looms as the shrine's priestess warns Kosaki, Chitoge Kirisaki, Seishirou Tsugumi, and Marika Tachibana that harm will befall Raku in the coming hours. To avoid such an outcome, the girls must find a way to dispel Raku's bad luck not only before the new year but also without his knowledge. Under the priestess' guidance, they try various exorcism methods to save their friend—even if this places them in awkward situations.

Raku notices Marika has recently been going home early and wonders what she is doing after school. Upon arriving at a restaurant with Chitoge, he learns Marika has taken up a part-time job as a waitress to gain more first hand experience in society. But that seems easier said than done, as Raku witnesses Marika's clumsy performance and her boss' constant distress because of it. However, when members from the Shuei-Gumi, Beehive, and the police all swarm the restaurant, Marika may be the best person for the job when it comes to handling the ensuing turmoil.

Henbou
Expecting Chitoge to arrive at his house for lunch on New Year's Day, Raku is surprised to see she also invited their other friends to the celebration. As everyone is enjoying the food, Chitoge asks Raku for something sweet to eat. Aware that Chitoge does not like Japanese sweets, Raku brings out a bowl of chocolate. It is not long before the girls' behaviors drastically change, and Raku realizes the chocolate contains alcohol! He struggles to handle the girls' drunken frenzy.

Sentou
Due to bath problems at home, Raku goes to the local bathhouse, where he bumps into Chitoge. Unlike him, she simply wishes to visit a Japanese bathhouse for the first time. The two are soon joined by Marika, who attempts to climb over into the men's side before Chitoge stops her. Despite wanting to leave as soon as possible to avoid trouble, Raku is left to attend the front desk while the bathhouse keeper runs an errand, forcing him to deal with all sorts of mishaps.

Service
The girls enjoy themselves at a nearby mountain hot spring when a nearby geyser erupts and launches all of their belongings into the men's hot spring. With no clothes or phones, the girls stealthily try to retrieve their luggage while avoiding Raku's unsuspecting eyes.
