Both are influenced by Korean culture. If you enjoyed all those Korean references in Akatsuki no Yona, you'll enjoy Dae Jang Geum.

Both have strong female mai characters trying to achieve their dreams in palace life.

A female version of Yakitate! Both are teenage protagonists who have childhood dreams of cooking or baking, and pursue their careers through cooking contests. They have a balanced share of friends and enemies (or rivals) who seek to stop them, but they overcome their difficulties to bring the best food possible to the world. Equally heartwarming, although Yakitate's humor lies in slapstick humor and funny puns, while Dae Jang Geum's humor is a mixture of great wit, and deus ex machina (situational rescues). Dae Jang Geum is also more action-based, so it's easy to binge watch for the plot, whereas Yakitate's story is dragged out  read more

Very different stories but both have historical East Asian settings and a young/teenage protagonist who goes on a journey filled with action, personal growth, and form friendships with people who are much older than them. Seirei No Moribito is more fantasy/supernatural, while Dae Jang Geum is focused on cooking the finest Korean cuisine - but both could have been set in an overlapping universe.

Two anime shaped around royal palace, it's kitchen and palace community's relations. Very similar themes.

This is similar because They both have two main characters who work to overcome that gender barrier. They are both women in olden times who are very bright and work in a palace. Hardworking even though they face hardships or bullying. If you like one you'll like the other. Saiunkoku is more adultish though.

both mikan and janggeum have a goal to get in place where only special people can get in. and they are trying hard to be recognised by people. I think if you like this anime you will like the ither too.

Both story are very alike, for one they follow a girl who have the same dream to be good at cooking. in jangeum case it's lots of different dishes and in amano case there are sweets. also girls are probably about same age.

Well they both start of with two little girls who are smart, cheerful, and hardworking. They give me the same feel and if you watch em both you'll notice some similarities
