These manga feature similar concepts of eating your opponents with their gritty style combat. This is more expressed during the Pickle Arc of Baki: Son of Ogre where it centers on a revived caveman named Pickle who fought and ate dinosaurs.

Both series begin with prison arcs where our main character battles inmates in very violent fashion. Afterwards, Riki-Oh and Baki continue to fight outrageous enemies and have a final showdown with their father.

These manga begin in a prison setting where Baki and Jolyne violently battle against inmates. Both series are sequels that share over-the-top events and outrageous feats of power(Stone Ocean is more supernatural). Jolyne and Baki have their share of father issues who gradually become closer to their family.
