The main character and his friends are plainly parodying the characters of Doraemon spoofing their character design to their personalities, unlike episodic parody this is inclusive in all chapters

If Freddie & Mechazawa had a child, that kid would be Roboko, melting down what made Cromartie so enjoyable & reforging it into a robot with knees that look like Nappa's

Both series revolve around silly robot hijinks, they both have old school artstyles and storyboards and they’re both fun and quick easy reads. Roboco takes a lot of inspiration from Slump among other things, the main difference between it and Slump is the that Roboco has a lot of Shonen Jump references which Slump does not. Both are nice to read.

I feel like Boku to Roboko is the spiritual successor of Gintama, as they are both published in weekly shonen jump manga, both are a parody comedy manga with a lot of wacky jokes that break the 4th wall.
