Why Towa no Quon is divided Into Six Different Entries?

I wonder why is it divided into 6 different entries, all six movies are basically an anime with 12 episodes. Each movie is the continuation of the previous one.
Does anybody know why?

Because that’s how they were released in Japan as theatrical films
