Mixed Feelings
Preliminary (Unknown/2 eps)
Hanayaka Nari, Waga Ichizoku: Kinetograph is yet another typical reversed harem shoujo series set in the early 20th century of Japan's Taisho era.
I'm not a fan of doing a review based on the first episode, but if my deduction is correct, it will take the most common course of action.

Story: The story itself is quite intriguing - the head of the Miyanomori family has many sons from different wives. He plans on retiring, but he will leave the inheritance to only one of them. All of the sons have 10 months to make the old colonel happy. How? That's for them to decide.
The downside of it all is the main character Haru Asagi, a commoner working as a maid in the mansion.

Art and Sound: Not too good, but decent and enjoyable. great variety of different pretty girls and boys with nice voice acting.

Characters: As I already mentioned, Haru is the weakest spot in the whole plot. She's your usual damsel in distress. A naive, clumsy countryside girl with (supposedly) a big heart. She gets picked on by the Miyanomori sons, but will not stop working there because Haru has a family back home to take care of. All of the sons differ in their approach to life, Haru and looks. So there is plenty to choose from (the common style of visual novels).

Enjoyment: Being a fan of traditional shoujo manga and anime, this is worth watching, if there is nothing better on your plan-to-watch list, but don't expect too much of it. The quirky kind of shy romance will definitely be presented and enjoyed.

Overall: Maybe I'm just getting old and grumpy, but the main character being completely clueless and weak just gets on my nerves nowadays (especially when Amnesia is also ongoing at the same time). It's simply too predictable, that Haru will conquer the hearts of all the sons one by one with her dedication and never ending kindness, no matter how harsh they would treat her. I will of course continue watching it and hope for some mind blowing experience, but I wouldn't even bet my chocolate spongecake on it.
