This is not a complex story. Kids and teachers running amok in school. Yes there is a pseudo video game portion with classes battling classes, but that's just a backdrop to the real story of kids having fun. Thought provoking dialogue is not part of this anime, but that's not bad. It's a fun quick moving story with lots of jokes and violent behavior. Heck that's what my high school was like.
The characters are likable and funny. I really enjoy the main character. He is just idiotic enough to make him funny but not annoying. For a comedy such as it is the characters are interesting and watchable. You can see real personalities inside them. Not just your typical aloof, self absorbed, unemotional characters.
Overall "Baka" is a funny show that you will probably have a great time watching. So if you are looking for a fast paced comedy with lots of jokes and some great characters, you should give this anime a chance.
