A lot of series of oneshots blend into an indistinguishable mushy substance after a while. I promise you, each of the stories in Bannin will remain perfectly separate and identifiable. The stories are memorable and each has a certain special little something that will leave a mark. Despite the fact that some characters 'look' alike, they are so nicely portrayed, that there's no chance you'll mix them up. The stories are original, disturbing, and they deal with the psychology of the characters and the nature of their (weird) relationships.
The last story, Meguriai Cosmo, is weird and at the same time hilarious; however it still manages to touch upon some issues that I have not encountered before. The character that is supposed to be ugly, actually is ugly. I'm not very crazy about ugly guys in yaoi, but somehow, this works surprisingly good, especially as a conclusion to a series of oneshots that deal with difficult and somewhat disturbing topics
